Had a very strange dream last night - I was in a bar, dressed to the nines except for my hair which was in rollers with a scarf wrapped around confused I then got into an argument with Sting and his wife, Sting then morphed into Andrew LLoyd-Webber and the argument continued. I have absolutely no idea what it means (I have never met either Sting or Andrew LLoyd -Webber). What is the strangest dream you have had?

The strangest one I can remember was I was running through a wood, looking for my father, and I ran into a huge bear, which grabbed me and clung onto me so that I couldn't get free. The strangest thing was that, for days afterward, I could 'sense' the bear's fur and the feel of its claws in my back. It was very unsettling.

A couple of nights ago I was chasing Danny Dyer around the inside perimiter of a prison confused I remembered more the next morning but that's all I recall now.

I have weird dreams, recently I was at the euthanasia clinic with my husband but changed my mind. He got cross and told me to make up mind as he had to go shopping. Please don't analyse that one

I often dream about toilets, seem to be in a supermarket. No vacant ones and there are queues waiting or they are filthy. and I don't want to use them. This has never happened to me so I don't know why they occur.

I dreamed about Benedict Cumberbatch (I have a crush on him!) but, unfortunately, I was his mum. He had rung me for a chat. It would have been a much better dream if I had been his paramour....but he did appreciate my wise motherly advice.

Oddly, my daughter and I have both dreamed we were friends with James Hetfield, the lead singer of Metallica. We do like Metallica but I can't imagine either of us would be great pals with Mr Hetfield.

I dreamt, I was in bed with a man last week and he was trying to interest me in having sex by offering me newts.

I had recently been at a meeting re. local factory expansion where we had been told that expansion would be prevented if we had newts (protected) locally but as humans we don't get any protection at all.

I was never easily bought but this is an all time low sad

I once dreamed that I walked across a field to a large country house. On entering the magnificent hall, I promptly turned into a large pot plant, a sort of ferny thing! Something dastardly was happening further into the house, but I couldn't warn any of the occupants and just had to sit in my pot! I have no idea what it was all about, but perhaps it was due to exam stress as it was about the time of my state finals.

I can't ever remember the details, just a vague idea!

I have premonition dreams, the worst of which was "seeing" the Birmingham Pub Bombings when I was a teenager in the 70's.
Otherwise,I have really weird dreams anyway-I have opened a shopping centre, duetted with Cliff Richard, made a film on a remote Scottish island, been "stepmum" to some baby capybaras, often sat on a toilet in public places, been chased into a cellar by an unknown entity, bought a home on an island in the sky surrounded by rainbows and had penguins in the garden. My dream life is much more interesting than my real one!

wilygran Wed 30-Nov-16 14:58:38

My dreams always told me where something was that I had lost, and yes it was there.

Kittye Wed 30-Nov-16 15:09:52

blubble that's one of my frequent dreams ? I also have one where I need to use the telephone and I can never get the dial to turn or the keys stick down.
My favourite dream is when I'm flying through the air like a bird, but I don't often have that , normally just have weird dreams

Linbrikat Wed 30-Nov-16 16:03:39

Kittye, I quite often have dreams involving making telephone calls. Either I'm desperately trying to remember or find someone's number and I just can't, or I've got to punch in a long complicated number and I get halfway through and make a mistake so I keep on having to start again. I've wondered what these mean. Maybe I worry that I can't communicate properly with people?

I have very weird dreams a lot, can't remember much of the detail next morning - some are nice, some are very weird - dream about dead relatives but not in the right places where we would have been together confused

I don't bother to analyse them though but it seems worse if I'm stressed grin

How do you remember all this stuff? I occasionally remember a bit on waking, but then it floats away into the ether.

Judging by all your strange dreams I think Freud would have a field day!

Happy dreams smile

If you keep a notebook by the bed and write down whatever you can recall, as soon as you wake up, you will likely start to remember more.
That's the first step towards lucid dreaming - being aware that you are dreaming, while you are in the dream.

The most strange dream I ever had was I was in a jungle, but it wasn't a real jungle, it was like a cartoon jungle and all the trees were made of paper or plastic. All the trees had owl type creatures on them which also were not real and were exactly like Furbies. When they opened their beaks they had real human mouths inside, which really freaked me out! shock confused

I had an odd dream last week. In it I was talking to my mum on the phone & she told me my step father had burst one of his mother's (94) testicles! No idea but mum thought it was amusing when I told her! ?

Cherrytree59 Wed 30-Nov-16 17:27:03

Linbrikat I have telephone dreams just like yours.confused

NotTooOld Wed 30-Nov-16 17:35:37

FarNorth's notebook idea reminds me of something I once read in a book about dreams. The author's suggestion was that everything we dream has either already happened or will happen in the future. So when we wake after a dream we should write down in the notebook anything that has not already happened to us and watch out for it. For example, I dreamed of a rather grand and ornate staircase that appeared to be made of highly polished mahogany that I had never seen before. Some days later my mother and I took the children to visit a stately home where we had never been before and in the grand entrance hall of the mansion was the exact same staircase I had seen in my dream days before. Weird or what?

I had a dream about an old family friend who I hadn't seen for 40 years or so. His wife had written to me about 5 years ago to tell me he had died suddenly. I hadn't thought about him for years when I had a dream where he came towards me surrounded by light and telling me how happy he was. I contacted his wife to tell her and she found the story very comforting.

Weirdly my recurring dream is being in a zombie apocalypse. It feels very real and it wakes me up with my mind still whirring . I have to spend a while thinking about something else as my mind wants to take me straight back into it.

When I was little I always dreamed that I was flying and the views were terrific. I just loved it and apparently it was never a problem to get me to go to bed as I knew that as soon as I shut my eyes I would be off on another journey.
Nowadays I just wish I could sleep! hmm
