Strange dream

strange dream ..I had 1 on june 11. 2016 ..I dream of a an german cyclist called Rudi Atig ..never met him before and I saw him racing in the 60s may be once or twice .. the dream was very strong , the feeling was very intense and I remember it in the morning . I was troubled so I checked Google and found out he died that day ... very troubling .. I think it was the 2nd time such a dream happen to me ,,, i dont remember the exact facts of the first one but it was between january and may this year .... the results was similar.... the person in my dream died that day ...... and i didnot have any connection to this person either and this person didn't live in the uk either .... I have heard that dreams are illustrations of things that are filling your unconscious mind. The ones about being half-naked in public are about feeling afraid that your inadequacies will be revealed. Being on the edge of danger just means fearing something that faces you, or general anxiety.

Children often dream of flying. It is said by some people to be connected with sexual stirrings (Freud - the man was more obsessed by sex than any of his patients!) but it is also said to be a feeling that you can do anything you want to, youi can rise up and succeed. That one about the family all jumping to the next peak, but you not being able to do it must have been from a feeling that you are not up to their standard.

As a child under 8yrs I frequently dreamt I was going mountain climbing with my family, we were all tied together ! After reaching the first peak, it was decided we would jump to the next peak....everyone manage it, but me! I would fall and fall , which woke me up in a panic! Never told anyone !

But since adulthood, I had many dreams that would come true within a short period of time,. In one instance it saved our lives !
Because it was so scary ... predicting our holiday would end with a enormous storm, thereby we had to pack a soaking wet tent and get everything into car, causing short tempers and misery!
Also it told of a corner on a mountain side where a red car would come round it and hit us !!! There was no room/space to move out of the way !
Needless to say I changed the day we would go home... the dream was on Wednesday night so we left Friday while the sun shone ! Leaving friends behind ; I never told hubby about red car,. But on a tight corner ...this ' racing red car ' came round missing us by inches !! It was horrific !!! We pulled over at next viewing point,. And sat gasping from shock !
In my dream we died !! Oh I must add, friends told us of dreadful storm that night !

My mother had a recurring dream where she was walking down the main street where we lived wearing only a vest.

I used to have recurring dreams of being shown around a house by an Estate Agent to find, when I pulled back the curtain on a window, that the house was on the very edge of a precipice.

I've also dreamed of trying to use a telephone in an emergency but it seems that you can't make phone calls in your dreams.

Kittye, I too had dreams of desperately trying get to make emergency calls (from public boxes which were out of order. This went on for years, until I realised that I needed to be listened to when trying to communicate with DH. Never had that dream again but once I even had to slap him (lightly, on the cheek) to get his attention. He was so shocked, and so was I. The first and last time!

Yes, I agree about his dream theories (though I think he opened up new ways of thinking in other things.)
I've come round more to think of dream topics as reflections of our current worries and physical conditions.
My recurring dreams lately are about being lost in a strange place, and can't find my handbag and purse - old age takes some getting used to.

Am I the only person who thought this man was wrong and weird? Intelligent he might have been but imo his theories need questioning.

I was always told that if you have a bad dream where you are in danger of some kind you should 'fight the dragon' ie turn the tables on whatever was chasing you or scaring you and fight back. That way you do not fall prey to phobias.

I used to dream that I was flying through the sky, just like the boy in The Snowman. I could see everything quite clearly, could listen in to people's conversations and I could hear everything around me. I could feel the wind in my hair and I could feel the drag on my outstretched arms.

Not sure what a dream like that means.

I have reoccurring dreams of a Lion chasing me. But the strangest was when I was in a compromising position with the actor Morgan Freeman ( I don't fancy him ) and all his teeth fell out. ?

I had a dream the other night that I had acquired a 'six pack'. I can only conclude that I am becoming obsessive about losing weight. Don't worry - hell will freeze over before I become anorexic.

The toilet ones - could it be that you need to go but fast asleep and subconsciously scared of having an 'accident'?

I often used to dream that I was just wearing a vest but would put my school tie around my waist so that it looked like a belt on a dress.
I also dream about toilets, if I find a nice clean one it usually has no back wall to the cubicle. Strangely the outside is often countryside with lots of ramblers passing by. I also find a vacant cubicle and dash in to find it is a cleaner's cupboard with a low sink and mop buckets but no toilet.

I remember mAny of my dreamsvery vividly. I never dream abot flying or teeth falling out but i regularly have the toilet dream where im desperately looking for a loobut the only one i can find is very publc eg in a retaurant with no door. In the drEam im embarassed but no-one takes any notice. Then yes i wake up and need to go.
Othe recurring dreams include the ne where i need to catch a plane or train but im late and havent packed, or im ost in a strangectown and cant remember the way back to hotel, or I have a class to teach , im late, cant remember where the room is and havent prepared a lesson. (Yes i was a teacher) - theres usually an ofsted inspectiontoo.
Also sim to the loo dream, Im i adequately dressed eg naked from the waist down ina public place or even a publuc platform. Im trying to pull my top down but no one seems to notice.
Also dream im driving and have a crash and die , them wake up and im So relieved!
All these are anxiety dreams I Suppose but i do have otger dresms too about friends and famiky!

I'm sure everyone must dream, but I hardly ever remember a thing about mine. I did once wake up from a dream that I'd won the lottery. I knew the numbers, but by the time I'd scrabbled round in my bedside drawer for paper and pen to write them down they were starting to fade from my memory. Of course I bought a ticket for the next draw and the first three numbers I'd written down came up. The other three were very close, just a digit or two out. I've never had predictive dreams before or since, so I think I blew my big chance!

I do now keep a pen and paper at the top of that bedside drawer though, just in case!

I dreamt that a colleague and I bought a lottery ticket and won so I got to live in the nice gatehouse and she lived in the big house down a long drive. When she told me she had a similar dream we bought a lottery ticket. We didn't win anything! And no, she wasn't winding me up, she genuinely had her dream.
This week, I dreamt that I was standing in the doorway and my OH, sitting on the sofa, turned to me and said "so and so, (a friend we haven't seen for years) has died"! Then he turned back to what he was doing. That was weird. I still don't know whether that friend is still around.

I have never had the teeth falling out dream, but DD1 has it all the time.

I dream about not being able to find a loo. They are either locked or dirty and overflowing. I do have a problem with my bladder, but often it means I do need a wee.
I also dream about losing my teeth, I put my hand to my mouth, and they all found out into the palm of my hand.It usually means I'm not well,quite common I believe.
My Father taught me about lucid dreaming when I was a child and it did work.

I think most of us of a certain age have the toilet dream, I certainly do.You're looking madly for a public loo, you find one, and either it's totally filthy and disgusting, so even in a desperate state you can't bring yourself to use it, or there is a long, long queue waiting, or you find what you think is a large clean public loo, but the cubicles turn out to have only showers in them. Hardly need Freud to interpret those dreams.
I also have many dreams of buying and moving into a new house (it is usually a fairly unsettling sort of house, even scary, and I wish we hadn't bought it) huge relief to wake up from that one!
During my fifties I had many dreams of having a baby ( lovely) and when having newly retired, I had a whole string of dreams which involved having my handbag and purse stolen, sometimes I would find them, with all cash and credit cards etc gone.Again, hardly need Freud for any of those dreams.

I regularly have dreams that I desperately need the loo and when I do find one it is one that is open for all to see - but I am so desperate I have to use it. I dread to think what a dream analyst would make of this! On the other hand I have wonderful dreams where I am flying - using Breast Stroke () - so uplifting and joyful!

Often have same dream, I sell my house ( of 33yrs) move in somewhere else, then want to move back but can't. Is this telling me I should move or should'nt? Can't decide.

Don't remember most of them but recurrent dreams are about not being able to find anywhere to shower (must be guilt!?) or trying to get packed and out the house because I have a plane/train to catch. Used to dream about teeth, which always seemed to be a precursor of something not nice about to happen. And up till quite recently dreamed about having to take exams. My kids have very weird dreams and my DH, who is airplane mad, used to dream that he was on a flight and someone asked the passengers if anyone could fly -whereupon he volunteered and saved the plane - wishful thinking or what?!!.

When I was little I always dreamed that I was flying and the views were terrific. I just loved it and apparently it was never a problem to get me to go to bed as I knew that as soon as I shut my eyes I would be off on another journey.
Nowadays I just wish I could sleep!

Weirdly my recurring dream is being in a zombie apocalypse. It feels very real and it wakes me up with my mind still whirring . I have to spend a while thinking about something else as my mind wants to take me straight back into it.
