Is your DH forever watching football on TV?

it's rugby this afternoon .....

I am regularly devoutly grateful that neither DH or DS have any interest whatsoever in watching any sport, except,occasionally the Olympics, and even I am know to watch bits of that.

We had a walk this morning. It was dull, grey and cold. But we had to go this morning, because he was listening to the match this afternoon - when the sun had come out and it was lovely. And then we had after-match "Praise or Grumble" (he grumbled), and now there is rugby on the tv, and it is Wales, so we have to watch that (because he's Welsh, look you!), but after that, there is another match....... I would rather gouge out my eyes with a rusty spoon than watch a football match, but I don't actually mind the rugby - if only there wasn't so much of it!

I'm watching football myself now. Can't see the problem if you've got two tvs. Lots of men hate "soaps", lots of women hate football.

I am addicted to the tennis. DH hardly watches the telly but if he does and I want something else I sit with my headphones on watching on my IPad so we are both happy.

If OH decides he is watching some football I take myself off to the bedroom and get comfy and watch catch-up on the other TV or use my lap-top for GN etc,I do not do any housework or cooking whilst football/sport is on if he is relaxing so am I, alls fair in love and football as far as I'm concerned.

There is another in the dining room, but in all honesty there is never anything that I desperately want to watch enough to move my bum. I record a lot.

Nope. DH is apoplectic about the money wasted on football. Just don't get him started on it!

Rarely watches it

Yes, he watches sport on Sky all the time! Any sports at all, and then pundits discussing sport, and then...more sport.
we used to have two tv sets, but find I don't bother much now, if it gets on my nerves I take myself off to read or play on the computer/iPad etc.

Thank goodness for a laptop and headphones.

I'm blowed if I'm going to sacrifice my comfy chair and roaring fire to watch TV in another room just because the football/rugby/snooker/formula 1 is on all flipping afternoon.

In answer to the OP, yes! Nearly all the time. And when he's not watching football, he's watching endless recordings of Pointless or Eggheads. Occasionally we'll watch something together - Silent Witness, Lewis, Midsomer Murders. Not Poirot, I cannot stand that little man with his mincing steps and pernickety ways. If DH wants to watch that, then he's on his own!
But it doesn't drive me mad, him watching football. I just go in the other room and either watch something of my choosing, or read, or put music on while I'm sewing. He's watching footy in the lounge now, I'm in the dining room at my computer in between sewing.

I'll find something to do if OH wants to watch football,darts, bowls, snooker. Catchup tv or a book usually or we have another tv upstairs if necessary.

Why is it the woman of the house who is banished to another room?

It isn't the case in our house Merlot - DH gets banished to the spare room or to the pub if he wants to watch football.

I'm striking a blow for women everywhere.

DH wouldn't consider the pub as banishment....and I'd have to go and drive him home

Lots of the football that Dh watches is on BT, which we get free, but only on the TV in the playroom so I get the lounge.

Yes , mine did but he is living in his own house now so that's ok
