I have been unable to do my usual house cleaning due to a sprained ankle. Today the sun is shining and showing up all the muck. It got me to thinking, why do (most) women continue to do the cleaning, ironing etc. after retiring? DH sitting reading the paper whilst I am hobbling around with hoover, mop etc. in a right strop! Even when he does do anything it takes longer for me to tell him how to do it than the actual job itself. A clever strategy? I am now going to review the amount of time I spend on domestic chores. Friends have a 'lady who does' come in 3 hours a week and the house is always immaculate. I don't think I could get through in that time. Perhaps I should mentally clock in and clock out and then down tools when the time is up. Rant over.
