Xmas jumpers - what do you think?

I like Christmas jumpers, I like Christmas hats. I think people who put Christmas light outside their houses are amazingly generous. I'm not a bling person at all, apart from family photos I have hardly any ornaments but come Christmas if it's Christmassy and shines I want it. I'm looking for a Christmas jumper with a black schnauzer depicted on the front for an old friend if any of you lovelies see one give me a nod. I just wish it started in December rather than the end of October other than that I love Christmas ?

I've never had one, largely because it seemed such a waste of money to have something to wear for so short a time.
But I'm beginning to think, oh, sod it.
Yes, they're corny, but if you can't be corny at Christmas....
I'm looking at them for very little Dgcs, and may well succumb myself.

One year I really went over the top for a seriously tacky laugh - had a sort of joke Christmas 'bra' - there was a squeezy thing you held behind your back, and when you squeezed it, out of the two 'nipples' popped those unrolling squeaky things!
Beat that for tack, anybody! It certainly livened up the cooking.
Everybody was in fits, except for a guest's dog who kept jumping up, determined to kill them! Luckily he was quite a little boy and could never reach.

Father Christmas once brought two of my children Christmas jumpers with bunnies on. That was the Christmas Eve when a fox killed the children's rabbits and I had to tell them on Christmas morning.

Well, I went a bit mad at local big Asda - got a red Rudolf one as joke birthday present for brother with bday on the 21st. He will happily wear such things for a laugh - my dh never would. Then I got one for very little Gdd, a navy one for myself, and a sweatshirt with kissing polar bears as fun present for niece who'll be visiting from the US. I did run it past her mother first! We are not doing any big presents and since it was only £12 and rather nice, and I was racking my poor brains...

The tasteful one is going back - BORING!

Witzend SNAP I got the red Rudolph one which plays Rudolph's signature tune in ASDA yesterday for DH. I shall give it to him tomorrow for his birthday. He can wear it to his birthday tea, then the Wee Steel Band's Christmas Party and also when 'helping' in the Pop Up Christmas Shop. Dates have worked in our favour this year as the big town centre light switch on is also tommorow. We will time it so that they light-up just as the Birthday Boy arrives

I went shopping yesterday and Christmas jumpers are in EVERY shop that sells clothes. They all look so festive and cheerful I had trouble not buying myself one - just as well as I already have one but mine is a bit 'low key'. Don't think I can justify two though.

For those of us who get too hot on Christmas Day I saw some Christmas tee shirts at Asda today.

Somthing chic like mine. Ps it does make it look as if my nipples are erect though. There's an upside to everything I suppose

It went back I liked the embroidered baubles, but would have preferred a looser more "tunic" style, perhaps with side slits which IMHO would have looked dressier. Ah well, win some, lose some.

I don't like them, over priced and unnecessary in my opinion, but if people want to spend their cash on them that's their decision. Personally on Christmas Day I like to dress up, nice dress, (floaty, bit hippy really), sparkly tights, high heels, bit of jewellery. I don't want to wear an itchy,sweaty jumper.

trisher ours are bought by colleagues to wear at work over the Christmas period. You get a prize for buying the worst one. I agree I couldn't wear mine while spending almost half the day cooking in a hot kitchen. I couldn't wear high heels either. I always think it would be lovely to dress up for Christmas Day but between cooking, trying to join in the excitement with the children I'm just not organised enough to get dressed up. Following dinner I practically pass out with a glass of somthing while the menfolk take care of the clearing away. When do the rest of you wear yours?

morethan2 oh that 4 letter word-work! Forgotten all about that (sorry). I also have a wonderful DIL who likes to cook Christmas dinner. I can dress up and enjoy myself. (The heels do come off usually just after I arrive.) It took a long time to be able to do this, it's such a pleasure after years of cooking.

I would wish everyone had someone like her. She has hosted every Christmas apart from when the GCs were born. I make the Christmas pudding and take it over in advance, everything else she does. It is so lovely (sorry)

I'm in a panic now, I don't have a nice dress and have thrown out my high heels.

I love them! I don't care if they look silly- surely that is part of the appeal?

I shall wear them with pride if some people think they are cheap, nasty and gross! (They were only cheap because I got them in the sales)

I shall be wearing a black, sparkly top (from M and S) on Christmas Day- don't have to worry about being hot because my eldest daughter is cooking! I am doing Boxing Day dinner for 11 people. Much easier though - cold meat, mash, pickles etc and I will be wearing a cool, loose (cold shoulder) top because I know I will still get hot (and bothered).
