Does your car have a name?

My old tank of a Volvo was Helga (wife of Hagar the horrible). I loved her so much......
She went to the scrap yard last year, at nearly 500,000 kms.

I thought I was the only one who named their car depending on the registration. How wrong I was! HDL was Handel, current car GKO is Gecko. Can't remember the others.

I had a much loved Vanden Plas 1100 as my first car, that was Lizzie. Then a VW beatle, Alexander (after the A A Milne poem) After that, a series of nameless metros, and then I got a Citroen Xsara Picasso. It didn't have a name, until I was talking to a chap on the phone and he asked me how Cid the Citroen was. So, I'm on my 3rd Citroen now, and they've all been Cid!

Our last car was called jal which was part of her number plater and also both ofour sets of parents, mine were John and Lena and DH were John and Leida

I have a Toyota Aygo a fabulous little car, the only problem it doesn't like going up hills very much. The grandchildren call it Bumble, because it bumbles along up hills!!

I've a car named to remember the reg too; Kevin Christmas! Then I just have to recall the numbers!

Current car is Oona, from the OON number plate. She was 28 this year and still going strong for our very occasional outings, my Freedom Pass covers the rest. We started naming cars when we had three identical Renault4 vans,and it was the only way to sort out the keys and the rota.
