I know it is often said that dogs look like their owners, but to my alarm I have noticed that I am starting to share certain charcteristics with my two cats! 
Take Digby (no, don't because I love him dearly) he has rather short legs, check, his tummy is becoming increasingly large and wobbly, check, (although thankfully mine doesn't cover my feet when I sit down) he is often to be seen looking confused and gormless, check, walks into the kitchen and doesn't seem to quite remember what he went in there for, so has a few cat biscuits while he's thinking.
Now, I can't put "check" after that one, but I do have the "what did I come up here for? Oh well, I might as well have a wee while I'm here" problem.
. Digby also has the habit of gazing adoringly at Mr P. Whilst I don't gaze adoringly, I do look at him often, for various reasons including "Did you really just say that?" and "You are a grown up, please learn the difference between the floor and the laundry basket"
Also whilst I don't exactly share Digby's lustrous glossy coat (see plastic bag on head with olive oil applied post) I must say my whiskers are coming on a treat! 
Given also that left to my own devices I would happily spend a considerable amount of time "relaxing" I think you may be able to get my point.
I can identify with some of Oliver Sprouts foibles too. A bit clumsy,check, although I keep ornament breakages to a minimum by avoiding stretching out on windowsills or attempting to walk along the mantlepiece 
. Friendly and affectionate, check, but so far I have managed to refrain from rubbing against visitors legs.
High standards of personal hygiene, check again, but personally I prefer having a shower to sitting on the bonnet of next doors car, with my leg in the air while licking my bottom.
Do you think I ought to get myself microchipped?
Lol that's so funny Phoenix and I can identify with some characteristics of my two fur babies although I do draw the line at biting the hand that feeds me (i.e. my own) and chasing my OH out the door every time he makes an appearance

I also share another thing with Digby, the weather here has been horrid today, rain, rain, rain, so he has decided to stay indoors.
Oliver Sprout sallies forth regardless, then presents himself for a brisk rub down with a towel. I think that if I positioned myself bottom first , and waiting for the towel to be draped over my head, (as Oliver Sprout does) Mr P might have a fit of the vapours
Phoenix You only have to really worry when you absolutely have to go through a door just because it is open and then turn round and shout loudly when it closes behind you - just because?
I am not at all sure about getting microchipped either as I don't really like to think where the V.E.T. would put it!!? 
Thank you, Numberplease! We're going to rename our two rescue cats as we don't like the ones they currently have. 
Number please is right, SueDonim, he, like Digby, came to us from Cats Protection. Digby was originally Tiggy, which we thought was a bit "camp" so decided on Digby, as it sounded sort of similar, and we didn't want to make it too different, so that he didn't get too confused. Little did we know that he is so thick unaware, that we could have called him Fairy Twinkletoes and he wouldn't have noticed!
Oliver Sprout was just Sprout when we adopted him, and I thought (and indeed posted, complete with picture, before we actually got him) that Sprout was a ridiculous name for a cat, so we sort of decided on Oliver, but odd though it might seem, he is basically "Sprout", with the Oliver added in an attempt to give it some sort of gravitas!
Please bear in mind that according to Mr P, Digbys full name is Digby Kevin Wilberforce Hudson the 3rd!!

Our new cats are coming from Cats Protection as did the previous two we had. We're not bothered about having kittens, though I know they're fun, and are more than happy to give a cat in need a good home. Or in this case, two cats.

Charleygirl, yes, they're related - pedigree Russian Blue brothers! Their owners (as if anyone ever owns a cat) have moved to Korea for work and felt they couldn't take them.
Our last CP kitteh was a tiny kitten with a serious heart defect. The vet said she might not last a year but we had for five and half, in the end. She made up for her lack of size with an incredible amount of feistiness up until a week before she died, I was so sad when we lost her. Still am, actually. 
If they were, we'd keep those names! Currently, they're Charlie & Toby. After consideration of Leo & Tolstoy, Crime & Punishment, Rimsky & Korsokoff, Borscht & Vodka and War & Peace, we think they'll be Leo & Felix. Suitably Russian but also catty-names.
