I watched the cycling last night and loved every minute of it although most 0f it I did not have a clue about rules. We are doing so well re medals with I think more to come.

Very sad to read how harsh China has been with athletes who did not come home with gold medals. Hopefully they are slowly changing their attitude.

numberplease I am so glad that Tara no longer carries on as your Mia does- she has stopped bringing home anything for my approval.

Daphne I do hope that your DH was able to get a reasonable night's sleep and that you could also. No need to mention Grace.

NanaandGrampy I know that you have to live but please do not bring the entire garageful back into the house because you will be caught out when you least expect it. Trust Jackson to be looking out for his surprises!

soop I do hope that you were able to have a comfortable night's sleep. You possibly could not match my 9 hours with one trip to the loo but a few uninterrupted hours would be good. I hope also that you are not in much pain today after yesterday's rootling around in the nether regions.

At the end of the month I shall return to Malta and will be welcoming a new family member, a rescue puppy from Sicily who I have named Buzz

nanaandgrampy, it would take too long to try to explain how Bowen Technique works and, to be honest, I can't really understand it myself so here is the web site that you may or may no plough through! It helps that my therapist is a very empathic person. Selling and buying property is a terrible minefield in England. DS2 and family had a purchaser withdraw only a week before they expected to move and just before contracts should have been finalised. They eventually found a good house, not so big, but eminently suitable for the huge extension they are planning.

Yes you're right, it really is stressful and I don't do stress but Grampy does it in spades !! Your poor son ! There really should be more law surrounding house buying and selling. I never understand why Scotland have it and we don't.

NananadGrampy it is a breeze selling property in Scotland but buying is another kettle of fish. I hate "offers over", I much prefer a fixed price.

Have you considered giving up ironing until you have moved? I have not ironed for years and do not miss it. I no longer work so do not have to appear "smart" on a daily basis. For me it is more like slob's kitchen and do I care? Not a lot!

oh me too Charleygirl , the house Grampy likes was offers in excess of which I dislike too.

I quite like freshly ironed sheets etc so consider having to do the ironing fair price for that pleasure. Although for most of working life my one guilty pleasure was I sent my ironing away to be done and in the last few years paid DD2 to do it.

I consider my pjs to be 'working' attire and if we are not to have viewing or visitors...then that's what I will be wearing

I think if I won the lottery my guilty pleasure would be fresh bedding daily and not changed or washed by me!

The experience was positive in all respects. Except, of course, in spite of a detailed Google map, we managed to get...er...lost. I said to MacSporran "we've taken the wrong exit..." If I tell you that the circuitous route took an extra 40 mins you'll have some idea of the fraughtness of every mile.

We arrived at the New Victoria round about 7:30. It's bright and clean and cheerful. At 8:am I was called and I left MacS with the words...go and have a good breakfast. Did he? No...he was still sitting in the same place at 1:30. Why? He was afraid that he'd miss the call on his mobile and I would wander around trying to find him. He's an absolute star. Daft with it.

All the staff were super. I was informed that I was to stay overnight. I got around the consultant in due course. The procedure left me with a bruised and bleeding front and back passage, but today, I'm absolutely fine and dandy. A good night's sleep was enjoyed by both of us.
The outcome of the procedure confirms that both bladder and bowel are significantly prolapsed. All previous repairs are null and void. My case is to be discussed and, in due course, I shall have proper surgery . I feel much more positive now that I've met the surgeon who will perform the op.

We had a pleasant drive home. Photo of the Pass and be Thankful included. Rory was beside himself with glee when we walked in. Tail up and purrs all round. Kitten was sunbathing and after a hearty supper they enjoyed the evening together. Sunset also included in the pics.

I'm about to start at the very beginning and shall be reading all your updates. In time, I shall return.

annsixty in the early days after major surgery you do wonder when the discomfort will begin to ease. It will. Take things at a steady pace. You will realise after your convalescence, that the surgery has made a huge difference to your quality of life.

Gaga It's true...this too shall pass. As I was being prepared for the anaesthetic, I thought...not long before I shall be recovering with a nice . And so it was. the biscuits were delicious. Granny somebody or other. Very posh.

We women do suffer - I don't know if I've told this story before - I used to visit an old lady in her 90s and she told me that her mother had a prolapsed womb. In those days (19C) all they could do was support inside with a pottery dish. One day her Mum was walking along, it was in Hackney, and the dish fell out and smashed

I am having waterworks trouble as well - but only with my hose pipe ? The hot sun ? Made the hose hot and it slipped out of the connector, spraying water every where. If that is my only problem today I will be happy. Hope everyone who is suffering has a better day.

Pleased to have you back*soop*, sounds as good an outcome as it could be. Don't overdo it, though, sounds as if your body has some repairing to do. We tend to forget the bits we can't see!

I've worked with a Bowen technique practitioner in the past N&G, it helped a bit, think all I would advise is to suspend disbelief . It certainly doesnt t do harm, so why not try it?

number The drive over the pass is always a marvellous experience. It's majestic. I feel sad that you may not use it again. I'm cross with myself that we didn't meet for a coffee and blether when you were last in Kintyre. I blame the road works. It's the only time that such a hold up has happened. At any other time, you could have pulled into the entrance. There would have been sufficient space to park together with the caravan.
