I see now where that pass is, we've never been to the Kintyre peninsula.
Killiekrankie is in Perthshire, I should have known.
The only pass we've been through on the west is Glencoe.
We do miss Scotland, both of us have ancestors from there, mine from near Glasgow, husband's mother was from near Kirkaldy.

New cats first day outside, am hovering like a nervous idiot! One seems to have sussed it, am not sure re the other! Don't know whether to tale flap open or not ?? Both out atm ?

Have had a buggeration of a day at hospital today. Invite us in for procedure and tests then having waited hours, nurse says can't have op done today because of some long past medical problem that was in notes but nobody noticed. Have to wait now for op to be re-scheduled. We have been back and forth to that hospital so many times over the last few weeks that the car can take itself now. I was feeling quite grumpy till I read all your posts and realised I was making a fuss over nothing have calmed down now (with the aid of a glass or two of ). Hope you all have a peaceful and painless nights sleep.

One Sunday last year I took DH to the Royal Free (at considerable expense, as we live over 50 miles away and have to do it by trains and taxis) for a procedure to be carried out Monday or Tuesday.
Nobody quite seemed to know why he was there, but he had a bed allocated, got into his jimjams and I came home. Still some confusion on Monday morning over what time he should start Nil By Mouth and it was only on Monday afternoon that somebody checked the following day's theatre list and - yes, he wasn't on it.
So mid afternoon I got a phone call to come for him and take him home. Several red faces on the ward but nobody would own up to the cockup.
It was 11 clock by the time we got back. I was livid.
There are times when you just despair and incompetence such as you experienced is one of them.

soop I'm glad that you are home safe and sound. It's good news that something will be done to make your future life more comfortable. Do NOT go near that bicycle, It makes me wince to think about it.

Crafting a buggeration really sums up the day you've had. Knowing that other people are worse off doesn't really make us feel better unfortunately. The wine is a much better idea.

I stopped a bit abruptly last night, the dogs turned up with Dear Nephew. N needed a bit of a chat so stayed for a glass or so of wine with DH. By the time he left, I was wide awake and couldn't sleep.

NanaandGrampy I'm not sure I would trust the dogs (they are fine with people!) but with Soop's influence and your training and a bit of cake they might be alright.

Bellasnana little Buzz looks sweet, just what you need to keep your spirits up when you get home. Hopefully he is young enough for you to teach him good manners, That's if your children haven't spoilt him rotten whilst you are away. Or is he still with his Mum?

We have an ouchy!!

He fell over in the park ( not on my watch thank goodness). According to his brother there was a lot of blood but he saved him by giving him a tissue :-)

N&G the poor little mite- I quite agree, a very good job that it did not happen on your watch! It is also amazing how much blood one tissue can soak up!!!

I remember Daphne telling us what had happened to her DH and as she said, they do not live next door but that does not enter any empty head.

Hello all I am on holiday in a place with very localised t'internet .I have just noted that there is a new kitchen .I send my good wishes to all you poorly people. I am having a busy and enjoyable but rather exhausting week. Only one more full day. Also typing on my tablet which is not so easy. I will have to catch up over the weekend.

I`m sorry about my poor memory, but a few weeks ago, someone posted about how they used to get their white cat clean, I`d appreciate a recap please? I don`t want to keep bathing Mia, but she`s looking decidedly scruffy lately!

I know Charley he was pleased to have been able to help but I suspect the little chap will have a scar to show for his trouble. Currently both boys went down with sickness last night and my poor DD2 spent the night changing beds and pjs. They seem reasonably well in themselves except for sudden- and explosive- vomiting. No visits from us today then !!

We're taking a day off today and heading off to Bluewater - a large mall- to find a top for my upcoming birthday the theme of which is Florida Beach Party. So I'm looking for 'loud' not 'elegant'. I am very excited . We have quite a small family but far-flung and for this big birthday they will all be coming to us. Its family only so we shall let our hair down .

I know what you mean Milly BUT my mobility is so bad now that I have a scooter that travels with me ....but you should feel sorry for poor Grampy because he has to keep up with me :-)

It wasn't so bad as I had to pick up some tops and do some grocery shopping in Waitrose ...ah and have a lovely cooked breakfast in Pontis. That's Grampys treat for walking round

As I have mentioned ,I have spent a little while at the GPs lately and cannot praise them enough. The NHS is generally brilliant but it is so upsetting when we are used to it working well to find that things get c**ked up. DS1 had an appointment for his regular botox jabs come though when he was going to be on holiday so he cancelled 3 months ago and STILL hasn't had another date. He says his arm will be up round his ear by the time he gets seen again and it makes him so self-conscious. But, we are all so grateful that he has the injections available to him 'free' that we don't moan too much!

I hope you get a really lurid top Nanny - we need pictures.

TriciaF The pass through Glencoe is the most dramatic and thought provoking journey that I know. I never fail to remember the awful massacre and the horror of people being driven out into the snow to perish - needlessly.

dustyangel The bicycle is most def off limits. I'm still bleeding (a little) from my back orifice. Nothing to worry about. I was forewarned that it's par for the course. I haven't needed the pain killers that the hospital gave to me when I was released/discharged/set free.

NanaandGrampy Ouch! Head wounds bleed copiously. Dear wee boy, he deserves the comforter at bedtime. Our Torben knocked a tooth out when he was out with his daddy. They were climbing a frame in a gym. I thought to myself... I'm glad that I wasn't in charge at the time.
Sorry to hear that the boys appear to have picked up a horrid bug. Best that you keep away until they are better.

We've enjoyed a gentle saunter around the harbour of Tarbert...not too far from home. It's a glorious day. Barely a hint of a breeze. I shall sit out for a short time this afternoon.

Just been to collect our new schnoodle puppy, Oscar. He has inspected the whole ground floor of the house and tried to play with the other puppy he could see in the full- length mirror. He's very lively! He has his second lot of vaccinations tomorrow so it won't be long til he's looking for some doggy friends to romp round with in the kitchen.
I hadn't realised how hard it is to take a good picture of a black dog...

soop We always had cats when we were at work but they were both about 18 when they died so we thought if we got any more they might 'see us out'! I'm sure DD would have Oscar if necessary.
Must get in the habit of calling myself 'Mum' not Granny when I'm talking to the puppy. Rory looks like our sort of cat. He's very handsome.
