Soop's Friendly Kitcheners and pets...

Sympathies all round to those who are incapacitated whether by accident or surgery. And ((((hugs))))to Daphnebroon and her OH. They've been through so much and just don't deserve this latest setback.
A week ago, I was having serious problems walking and could hardly move without a stick. It's apparently a neuro-muscular problem, maybe pririformis syndrome/myofascial pain. Anyway, I had an appointment with a Bowen therapist, to give her one more try and quite quickly the pain has faded. I am wary about leaving my stick at home, but barely need it. Of course, given that it's a complementary therapy, I'm left wondering if it would have felt better without any help, but it would be a considerable coincidence.

Oh and good luck to soop who may well be under the anaesthetic by now or even in recovery. Hope to see her bright and cheerful tomorrow.

I am feeling a bit of a crock too but nowhere near as bad as any one else because all my bits are working (more or less) I went to the GP with palpitations and a dreadful headache last week. Yet another UTI diagnosed, Trimethoprim prescribed. Although I feel much better, I still have the fast heart rate and a slight headache so went back this morning. I saw the loveliest Trainee GP who thinks I have an e-coli bug in my bladder and has given me a different set of antibiotics and sent my sample off to be investigated. and lots of other fluids for me!!

Ann I 'hope' and please don't tell my mum that I dropped an aitch!!

Wishing all on here, or their nearest and dearest, with health problems a speedy recovery.
Puts my aches and pains to shame.

It's good that we can air our problems, health or any other, on here knowing that no one will think we are a pain. Think it helps to make life a little better knowing you have support, and sometimes I think it is easier when you don't have to talk face to face.

So sorry about your arms Anya, hope the discomfort eases some very soon.

Rory will be pining as MacSporran has been away for so long. He does love the hand that feeds him but not half as much as his master.

I agree, I hope that soop was on the operating table early today- I would hate for them to spend yet another night in Glasgow. I am keeping the fingers crossed.

If I have an evening like yesterday, Tara will be searching for another home. She was out all day as usual. I did my own thing also but around 10.30pm there was no sign of her. I wanted to make up my bed, have a shower, go to bed and read my book. I decided to start, then I heard a thud which meant madam had jumped off a bed on to the floor. She appeared quickly downstairs, wanting to go out, fat chance. She must have sneaked upstairs when I was cooking my supper- she usually lets me know she has come home but not last night. Naturally she joined me later for cuddles.

soop charmed the consultant into releasing her to go home even though she was supposed to stay in hosp overnight. I'll let her give you the details! She sends her love.

Glad, but not surprised to see that soop has still got it. I was concerned that even if she got out in time, she wouldn't be up to the long drive home. Hope everything has gone smoothly.

DB that goes for you and your DH as well, you must both be feeling exhausted with it all.

Anno both DH and I have had very successful Bowen treatment for back conditions in the past. Although there are other Bowen practitioners in the Algarve none of them seem as good as the chap who treated us, who has since returned to Devon. If anyone is interested I can highly recommend him. It is a non-invasive therapy.

I'm not sure if I'm an interloper now we have the new kitchen. I haven't got any pets now.
We have 4 poxy proxy dogs. They visit most evenings,they are not really poxy, they are beautiful and very affectionate, but as three of them are rescue stray hunting dogs, they chase everything including cats and I certainly wouldn't let them in the kitchen.

Glad to hear that Soop is on her way home, is probably there now, but I hope the drive back wasn`t too much for her, it`s a very long drive.
Our back yard should be renamed as the local wildlife sanctuary. In the last month I`ve rescued 3 mice and one grass snake from Mia, and relocated them into the long grass on the river bank round the front of our house. She gives me filthy looks every time I spoil her fun.

Good news soop. Nothing like your own bed. Hope the outcome is what you wanted it to be.

Glad to hear you are back soop, how would we manage without you. I always think being in your own home is the very best medicine.

I'm sure we could find a comfy place for you 'poxy' visitors Dusty ....maybe on the patio just outside the kitchen with a bone each ?

We are now facing the long haul of showing our home to individual interested parties. The Open Day was a huge failure and I suspect that we will lose out on the new property we liked. I'm not too concerned but Grampy fell in love with it. I'm more of the 'if we don't get it , it wasn't meant to be' train of thought.

So, although the house is clean and more tidy than usual , the ironing board is back in the kitchen and the clothes airer is back inside and all the stuff we took out is making its way back in as we now have to live in the house

Swimming this afternoon with young master Jackson.

He has discovered board games and was playing one with his Mummy last night. His younger brother hasn't worked out that knocking things over is NOT playing. As Mummy removed him for the 4th time Jackson said ' I wish Nana would come and get Cooper for a while so I can play my game ', and then as a quiet after thought ' and bring me a nice surprise' !!

I am obviously renowned for my provision of nice surprises
