Hello, I only recently got the courage to comment on a couple of threads. The kitchen looks a nice place to chill out. Hope i am welcome, rubbish at baking though, bread is my only forte.

Welcome Wobblybits don't worry about the baking, I'm rubbish too. I've found that those who inhabit the kitchen are just as happy with a glass of something....anything very forgiving

After six hours at the hospital I got my scan result, I have a pulmonary embolism and require six months of anticoagulants. I am very tired tonight as I had a bad night last night.

Sympathy harrigran, a buggeration when something which is designed to help you ends up causing its own complications.

Oh six hours is a long wait Harrigran. What a pain thst you need the six months' medication, but if it helps..... Better night tonight hopefully. I think we all suffered last night. I got bitten several times, but what do I do? Keep the windows closed all day?

thinking of you harrigran, six months feels forever but with luck it will go quickly. Sending and anything else that makes you feel a bit better, whether you are supposed to have it or not!

Harrigran, what bad luck but on the other hand it's as well that it has been detected and is to be treated. You've had so many calls on your strength, it doesn't seem fair to have another loaded on you.

harrigran hope you have a better night tonight. At least you now know what the problem is and can have treatment.

Welcome wobblybits (love the name). Don't worry about the baking we eat shop bought cake and treats too just nice to have you in the kitchen.

Mia is in trouble, she brought a mouse in and dropped it, it`s now running all over, she can`t catch it, I nearly grabbed it, but just missed it!

You are most welcome wobblybits. We do not spend the entire time in the kitchen scoffing cake and coffee, just a fair amount. It is just so pleasant and with Rory there as well, I am in heaven.

I agree, that really is a buggeration harrigran. At least it was discovered early and although the treatment appears to go on forever, six months will flash past. The weekly blood tests will be a slight buggeration but have to be done because the correct INR result must be known to receive the correct dose of Warfarin or whatever.

Mouse emergency over! It hid behind the plug adaptor in the corner, Mia was trying to get it, I managed to get hold of it and take it out onto the river bank. Actually, I think it was a vole rather than a mouse, it was dead cute.

I think the 'gifts' of live rodents makes me very pleased Mr C is allergic to cats , pleased yours was captured number. Loved the photo of Flynn, daphne, can't believe how he is maturing. Lovely lad that he is. Welcome to you wobblybits, worry not about the cake, good to have you here. It's a friendly place.

I'm still sulking at the rain today, personal insult . Sun forecast for tomorrow, fingers crossed for a more cheerful corner.

My Mum was Clarks all the way too soop and I think that its important that shoes are well fitting for small feet...but what do I know eh? I think we're becoming a bit paranoid about the whole tidying thing !! But we have now retained a new agent because in 6 weeks we have only had one viewing with the first people so its back to photography etc .

Glorious sunset though soop!!and aren't you glamourous on your new bench! You must have been a dancer with your beautifully pointed foot etc

Daphne your friends don't know what they're missing , Flynn is adorable and your photo made me smile. How is his Mum doing now? More rested I hope ?

So sorry to hear your news Harrigran one thing after another, you must be feeling very worn down . Sending you a few rainbows and unicorns to spread some sparkle over you .( well you can have too many flowers ).

Please save the mouse for my little boys please Numbers . They went to a zoo recently and were able to hold one. Despite seeing all the animals large and small the highlight Jackson assured me was when the mouse did a poopy in his hand !!

Today I have been invited by DGD ( 9 yrs old) to accompany her and Mummy to buy her new pencil case ! This is a big deal as its the first time she has been allowed to take in her own pencils to school so the choice is important . I believe I shall probably be contributing too . Then we will be going to Patisserie Valerie as a HUGE treat for cake ....I shall send pictures !!

harri I hope you've had a restful night and feel a little better. The embolism is indeed a buggeration but hopefully six months will go fairly quickly. You've had a rough time lately, but you will get better so take it easy and look after yourself xx

NanaandGrampy maybe you should have saved your money and not taken the 2 fellows to the zoo when Jackson is very easily pleased with a mouse pooping in his hand. It was probably out of sheer terror that the mouse did it! That is a cheaper exercise and many GNs have mouse problems in their homes, some brought in like Mia and others taking up residence.

cornergran if I were religious I would be praying for rain. we had 3 drops here yesterday, not quite enough for my grass which has almost sizzled away.

soop some cushions, a small table with a glass of vino in front of you and even Rory may be persuaded to join you.

We've sunshine today, Charleygirl, so a from me. Tomorrow we are forecast heavy rain again, hope it's wrong as we have a boat trip booked. Will still be fun but much prefer being on deck to being inside. More than happy for you to have some of our rain, will be wishing it in your direction

I'm a major wuss around rodents of all kinds, just can't bear them, spiders are no problem though and fortunately we have more of those than rodents.

Have a good day everyone, off for a walk to stretch a bit, achy this morning, a walk will settle things.

I do not see mice now thankfully. Tara stopped bringing home mice and birds, alive and dead last year and my sonic device has got rid of the mice who decided to lodge here and have babies.

Another very hot day here- I am not sure if I want any more of this weather. Even short car journeys, sitting in traffic, are horrendous.

A boat trip sounds great cornergran I do hope that some of our sunshine stays with you. Much more pleasant without rain when on a boat. Be careful that you do not slip.

I did indeed sleep last night, for eight hours, but had to have five pillows so that I was sitting rather than lying. Thanks for good wishes especially the rainbows and unicorns, GDs always draw them on cards for me.

harrigran That was a long time to wait for the results of the scan. Although I imagine that health issues can be a devil to diagnose.
I'm sorry that you now need more medication. If you can catch up with much needed sleep (no matter at what time of day or night) then you should take the opportunity. Your body needs to heal.

NanaandGrampy Whenever our parents purchased shoes we had to stand on a thingy that x-rayed the fit. I'm sure that such a thing would be frowned upon "nowadays" as my late Nana would say.
Of course you'll contribute towards the new pencil case. It's what we Nanas do...together with having a cream cake treat. Pics please.
PS I did attend ballet classes when I was a young child. They were supposed to help strengthen my weak muscles after a long spell in hospital with Scarlet Fever.
