Just daft

Lots of people can read GNet without being members, so not that daft.

Like all flashing ads it's really irritating.

It's the adverts that pay for GN, otherwise you would have to pay a subscription.

I do realize that GT but why advertise something I'm already using. Amazon don't advertise themselves on their own website

ninathenana If I take a quick peek at GN on my tablet without logging on the ad inviting me to join covers most of the page! It is so large that I cannot see the X in the corner to get rid of it.
I can't then log in anyway, if I tap the screen it may go away eventually but then re-appears.
I don't stay logged in although I know some people do.

GN - Do you know why?

I have not got adds on my screen, I think I managed to put a block on them.

Jalima. I have just tried it on Mrs P's Ipad and I don't get any problem. Could it be that you have the zoom setting on your browser set to something greater than 100%. You will find that setting in your browsers settings tab --- or hold the ctrl key down and scroll with your mouse to zoom in/out.

The threads behind are in normal size though GandTea, it is just this big pink box looming over most of the screen urging me to join GN. It doesn't have a mouse.
Even if I wanted to log in (and I don't always]) it takes five minutes of tapping the screen to get the box to disappear and be able to log in.
An iPad is probably better than my tablet.
