Could Mark Carney be Chancellor of the Exchequer?

BRedhead59 Wed 13-Jul-16 17:07:50

I'd have Martin Lewis in there somewhere in fact all ministers should have considerable experience in the field e.g.
Education - ex successful HT
Health - ex successful doctor or nurse
I think it would be interesting and helpful to have a cross party cabinet - oh yeah that's a coalition.
I would ban anyone who had not had a proper job and anyone who had not been to state school - that would be a start
Then I would start on the civil service and the House of Lords!
While I'm on a roll I would revise the hours for the House of Commons to make it 9-5 like the rest of us.

Slightly off at a tangent, but still political.... what to call Ms Clinton's consort when (hopefully not if?) she becomes Madam President. If the traditional title is First Lady, how about First Lady's Man? IYSWIM grin

Don't know how that 'our' got in there. She certainly isn't mine.

Gaggi3 Wed 13-Jul-16 10:12:33

I had a little fantasy, after the dreaded Ref., of an emergency coalition gov. headed by Dennis Skinner and Ken Clark, with perhaps some input from a Lib dem, if one could be found. Shouldn't think Ken Clark would be our Teresa May's brew.

Anniebach Wed 13-Jul-16 10:08:59

Minister of Transport. Jeremy Clarkson
