Corner honestly I think the 'fairness' of DGC visits is more for their mums and dads. The kids might say 'I haven't been to your house in A G E S ', but I think the mums and dad keep score . Also whilst it might be easier for us sometimes to have 2 together that's not what they want at all, they like that individual time tailored to exactly what they want. Anyway, yesterday passed off smoothly with DGS4 despite another toddler biting his arm at softplay!! To be fair her mum was mortified but the little man was totally taken aback and wouldn't go back without Grampy as backup !!

Charley I'm with you on the third cake ...it does look good and I can vouch that the lady's baking tastes as good as it looks

Today its swimming with DGS3 ... my promise of swimming outside is in doubt today as it is raining cats and dogs here. Luckily , he can be distracted by the promise of a cookie after swimming. As can Grampy for that matter !!

cornergran It isn't necessary to wear black. At least that's what folks hereabouts say. I would opt for a neat grey jacket which you'll be able to wear again (with a gorgeous colourful scarf). Scarves...a girl can't have too many.

Charleyg Electric air flosser. I didn't know such things existed. I imagine is the type of wotsit that the dentist uses. Cold air gives me jippy toothache.

The Care Home ladies were in good spirits. K told us that he's attended T in Park. He added that, from time to time he's a DJ. M remarked - you were there for D Day? I tried to explain what a DJ was. The word jockey confused her a little. Perhaps she thinks thinks that he rides horses.
Our friend had an awfully tiring journey by ambulance back to the Care Home. He's some tough cookie.

I was gassing on the phone to a friend of mine, not realising that my dry washing was soaked. Typical.

The air flosser is not as powerful as the one that the dentist uses. I did a load of research because many are worse than useless and are not cheap. I will keep my fingers crossed. I followed the reviews which I find helpful. I also have sensitive teeth so it was suggested that warm rather than cold water is used. The package arrived at 11am so I was very happy. Amazon are doing well around here because the lady delivered to a couple of other houses also.

I can imagine the conversation (or not) in the care home, rather confusing at times!

The flying teaspoons are back in the garden. There's a pair of them. I wonder if they are nesting? I love them, they're such pretty birds.
I'm starting to get on tenterhooks waiting for my first grandson to go with my two beautiful granddaughters. Due sometime at the end of the month, date uncertain. Name 'we'll see what he looks like!'

The last fortnight of a pregnancy lasts far too long. Us lot will expect photos and a bottle of bubbly

It`s our 53rd anniversary today, but you wouldn`t know it, hubby has spent most of the day upstairs on his game! Whoever said that romance was dead obviously knew my old man!

Congratulations number, for the years and your patience. Soop, exactly what I'm looking for but can I find it, no I can't! I need a stamp of the foot emoticon, please. Mr C has suggested I give up and re-group for a top to toe new outfit, He just might be right, tho I may not tell him that . Was trying to add to what I have already. Pleased you were remembered at the care home and your friend has made it back. Hopefully a peaceful night ahead for him. Our littlest one was in good smiling form today, hard to be gloomy around that one. n&g, you are right, the parents take more notice than the children, although there is one child with the proverbial elephant's memory who can tell us to the minute how much time they have spent with us. That child could go far . We decided today to stop fretting about it, we will do our best to be even handed but it's inevitable that there will be times it doesn't seem like it to someone. Can't please all the people all the time. Galen, we also have a no social media photo policy, think it's increasing rather than decreasing. Best be off, need to catch up with jobs tomorrow and the energy is flagging so sleep would be a good plan. Wishing all a good night's rest.

Charley I'm going to have to google electric air flosser I'm intrigued. After my last deep clean ( under the gum and totally horrible) I use an array of little teeny brushes for between the teeth but am willing to try anything to keep me from the dentists chair !

Congratulations on such a great achievement Number . If DH is not helping you celebrate then take the cheque book and go off and treat yourself !!!

I tried to imagine your care home conversation soop but it just makes me laugh every time.

I agree with you Corner we do our best to be fair but as the smallest doesn't have school its inevitable that we have them/see them more. I remember one memorable conversation with my daughters about Christmas presents . I try and buy the same number of gifts for the little ones regardless of value because the older they get the more expensive their things. There had been some dull rumblings from the girls and I put them straight - my money , my plan -- live with it. Nothing more has been said. The little ones only care about numbers not value. Parents eh???

I do have a Facebook account and so do all my family , brother, sisters , daughters etc and we do use it as a major tool for communicating and especially sharing pictures. I'm not in the least concerned because we post as a private group and the security settings are such that no one else can see the pictures except those chosen . We don't tag so they don't pop up anywhere else. Then if a parent wants to post a picture , that's up to them. Cant imagine not having it to be fair as it really does allow me to be part of their everyday life. But I appreciate others concerns. I think used and set up properly though its great.

Well its a day in for us . Tidying , crafting and Grampy is making the front of the house, drive and garden have some kerb appeal ..... we'll see !!

Its not 100% secure NannyanGrampy, I thought I was posting a picture privately of me and my grandson in a private group. A few weeks back I googled my name to see what info there was about me on the net and the picture comes up on google search! Have requested its removal but its still there!

I think it really does depend on your settings Mumsy , and keeping them scrupulously up to date. FB has a sneaky way of changing the settings without saying. Also if you allow tagging then it will pop up on other peoples pages who might be less secure. You can also select a setting which means search engines can use your data .

I have checked this morning ( and used google) and the only things that come up are old work related images . So I'm happy with that.

it was pinterest, NanaandGrampy I asked for my account to be deleted but the photo wasnt deleted and I cant access pinterest as Ive no account, Im just hoping that google removes it.

Charley, we got an air flosser free. I used it for a while and then donated it to Oxfam.

I have a FB account too N&G and use it to keep an eye on my children and to enable me to see photos of the DGC. As far as keeping things equal goes, life does get more difficult as they get older (we pick those two up from school once a week but they are often too busy to come and stay) or move away (those two appear with alarming regularity and stay longer) or stay in the area (we see those two quite often!) Balance in everything. Luckily, our sons don't have children or heaven knows how we'd cope.

Soop, I reckon you need a sit down!

Nothing much to report here so I'm off to cook salmon wrapped in pancetta!
