How not to think about the referendum.

I am restricting referendum activities to Gransnet. When the papers arrived today. I turned over the first 20 pages or so to get to the real news.

DH is out for the day so I am going to take advantage of the good weather to get some gardening done. After that I will be doing some sewing. I am doing some redecorating as well and have some new curtains to make.

And Wimbledon starts next week, so we can worry about Andy/the rain.

I hit the(French) white wine yesterday evening, and will probably have some more later. Will do dome sewing on my (Swiss) sewing machine and use my (German) vacuum cleaner to clean round. I may pop out in my (Italian) car down to the (German) supermarket, before turning only (French) electricity. May have some (Italian) pasta and cheese later.

Life will go on. I am going to be trying to work out how to stay dry at GS's school summer fair this afternoon. He is in the mini Euro football tournament playing for Wales! DH bought a paper this morning (he usually gets his news online). I shall not be reading it.

DT today the first 23 pages had to be skipped.

I've been out to buy new loo seat as the bathroom one is cracked. Oh the excitement !Later I will be doing some jigsaw puzzle.

I am heartily sick of it already and it has hardly begun. I will be watching the football, Wimbledon and then Rio- the world will pass me by without me noticing.

We have been out all morning serving coffee in the local Church centre, and the weather was humid but fine, great. Come the time for home, and the sky went dark, thunder rumbling in the distance, and now it's raining, so I shall be putting up my swollen feet and reading snoozing away the afternoon, and not thinking about yesterday.

After my morning walk, I stopped to discuss how how high the grass round the fields is growing with a passing dog walker. The rest of the day has been spent dashing out

I cropped all my broad beans yesterday but I have discovered a broad bean that can be planted now and cropped Sep/Oct so today was spent clearing out the bed, manuring it again and planting for, hopefully, the second crops of broad beans I should get in the Autumn.

I meant to make some curtains but they are losing out to episodic gardening.

I worried about blankets but only Teetime replied. Some people are worried about what Marine le Pen says. I've never given a toss for any of her speeches. I am drinking a good French wine . Had chorizo in my chicken meal. Wrote to a friend in Australia on my Apple ipad about a holiday in the Mekong and discussed applying for Chinese visas. Our friends were planning their visit to India and my daughter has just sent a text from China. The world is a much bigger place than Europe .

Went for a lovely long walk this morning, splashing through all the puddles left by ysterday's rain. I noted how high the brook was and, with more rain forecast for this afternoon, I am confidently awaiting the automatic flood warning from the Environment Agency.

Meanwhile I will continue to keep nipping out to inspect the grass to see if there is any chance of cutting it before the rain returns

I was planning our next holiday but will have to put it on hold until the pound will be worth anywhere near where it was -and that wont be soon. This disasterendum impinges no matter what I want to do.
