A vote for remain could lead to war

within the next 3-5 years. My opinion. I haven't written this lightly.

EU has destabilised Europe by their immigration policy. Either by incompetence or some wanting it destabilised.

If their policy continues and we remain in the EU, I think war will break out. Within 5 years, if not 3.

We really need to vote Leave for all our sakes.

phoenix Thu 23-Jun-16 17:53:33

This makes me want to

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 17:55:48

No, as I definitely think Leave anyway.

But I would take that into consideration if I was wobbling.

Lack of peace is a very heavy price to pay, if you are unsure what to vote.

durhamjen Thu 23-Jun-16 17:58:32

Maggie, I saw someone complain that they are fixing it by making us use pencils, which can be rubbed out.
Obviously someone who has never voted before!

"A man has been arrested after a threatening message – which included knife and gun emojis – was sent to an MP just days after the murder of Jo Cox.

The comment was posted on Craig Mackinlay’s Facebook page underneath a post supporting the campaign to leave the EU. Mackinlay was voted in as Conservative MP for South Thanet in the 2015 elections, beating Ukip leader Nigel Farage.

The Facebook comment read: “Another MP that needs ...” followed by a picture of a gun, knife and two smiley faces."

The police have done their job here. It's not war, it's just nasty threatening people.

Obieone

Going off topic a tad. I will not PM you to ask but I have noted at times there have been a certain few posters who have found amusement by making connections to yourself and a previous posters Username and I note this has happened again on this thread.

Have you ever made a personal statement regarding this occurrence accepting the situation ,in which case it is banter or does it upset you?

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 18:24:48

hmm.
I suppose I dont like it, but all my life I have been a little bit different so accept what is thrown at me I suppose.
I still haven't decided after all this time, if that is the best way to be or not.

Thnaks for asking.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 23-Jun-16 18:27:41

Nothing wrong with being different. You go for it lady. smile

Pathetic in my book, introducing a poster's previous name. How do you know the reason why she is not known by that now? It could be personal.

POGS Thu 23-Jun-16 18:40:56

Obieone

You show more grace in your reply than those who find it amusing that's for sure. wine

Iam64 Thu 23-Jun-16 18:42:46

This OP is reminiscent of the previous poster, whose name is referred to above. I won't repeat it for fear of being accused of being pathetic grin

This OP is reminiscent of that poster because it seems to be a deliberate and crude wind up. Its purpose is to cause dissent. Fortunately that hasn't' happened here. Whatever the outcome of today's vote, we'll all have to live with it. I'll be disappointed if we Leave for a multitude of reasons but I honestly don't believe that will lead to WAR. I'm even more certain that a Remain vote won't lead to war -

POGS Thu 23-Jun-16 18:58:24

Hmmm

I remember a poster W----64 who accused me of being a poster called Lotus Flower who found being rude and insulting amusing, she was incorrect but never apologised.

I find it bemusing some quickly jump to the defence of some they like who have changed names stating the various reasons for doing so, such as personal problems, security etc. yet find it amusing to show a totally different attitude to others.

Very strong words to call an OP a crude wind up looking to cause dissent, with or without a grin I would have thought.

granjura Thu 23-Jun-16 19:30:42

Are you by any chance winding people up to cause dissent ;)

Maggiemaybe Thu 23-Jun-16 19:41:32

Well, I haven't a clue what's going on now confused Sometimes I think I live in a bubble.

granjura Thu 23-Jun-16 19:44:32

Well some was done very discreetly and subtely, so anyone who was not aware would have picked it up. Now it has been highlighted- then everyone will become aware sad

Ana Thu 23-Jun-16 19:44:46

Obieone admitted on here ages ago that she was, indeed, the poster previously known as...

If you missed it, hard luck. No need to be so judgemental.

Badenkate Thu 23-Jun-16 19:53:33

I'm with you Maggiemaybe. I have no idea what's going on either. Sometimes it's nice to live in a state of ignorance smile

Blinko Thu 23-Jun-16 20:02:46

Me neither, Badenkate and Maggiemaybe*. I think sometimes on here that I should live in a home for the terminally bewildered.

I've mentioned it before on another thread, some people seem to know an awful lot about some other people. Are they all related, I wonder???

Elegran Thu 23-Jun-16 20:08:17

Some people have been here so long that they know a lot about others who have also been around a while. Some have seen it all before, too, and recognise patterns appearing in posts.

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 20:10:51

Yes I've Been here since 2011. Time I got a life.

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 20:15:03

Lack of peace is a very heavy price to pay, if you are unsure what to vote.
But I think voting to leave just because you think that could stop right wing groups causing chaos is called appeasement. It didn't work last time, why should it work again?

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 20:18:01

obieone
if that is the best way to be or not
'To be or not to be - that is the question?'
'To thine own self be true'

Just be yourself!
Don't change to suit other people
They don't

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 20:21:44

I thought the OP was a load of bollocks, just my personal opinion of course

but everyone is responding and some are getting very hot under the collar
confused

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 20:24:09

indeed, the poster previously known as...
Got it! Was she previously Jordan?
I won't give the real name which she uses nowadays.

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 20:26:43

granjura 19.30pm absolutely not.
Sometimes it is necessary to speak up when you would much rather not.
I am not a people pleaser as you may have gathered. But I dont have natural desire to wind people up either.

Jalima, if a person is unsure to vote, I for one would take it into account with other things as well.

When my parents voted In in 1973 or whenever, they did it primarily for peace. I think that bit worked at least. But I have written elsewhere that my one remaining parent is now voting Leave.

I think appeasement would work in Britain. Not at all sure it would work in Europe, especially some countries and the hotter ones if it came down to it.

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 20:27:57

Well, I do think there could be some truth in the OP but perhaps not in the way obieone wonders: there could be such uprisings in Europe from extremist groups (indeed, there are stirrings already) - and while the EU is inward-looking at all its problems, other powers could be waiting on the sidelines.

I do in fact fear very much for my DGC's future.

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 20:29:36

Thanks Jalima 20.18pm
Not sure I could even if I wanted to.

And thanks jingl and Ana.

Much appreciated everyone

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 20:33:14

But I want to be cheerful!! smile sunshine
