A vote for remain could lead to war

within the next 3-5 years. My opinion. I haven't written this lightly.

EU has destabilised Europe by their immigration policy. Either by incompetence or some wanting it destabilised.

If their policy continues and we remain in the EU, I think war will break out. Within 5 years, if not 3.

We really need to vote Leave for all our sakes.

Anya Thu 23-Jun-16 12:30:38

Oh...that should have read Obione hmm

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 12:33:17

Yes that is what I am saying Elegran. And it can lead to war.

felice Thu 23-Jun-16 12:37:48

SIL drives a refrigerated HGV sometimes, they have to be able to open from the inside in case the driver gets shut in. It does happen one of his drivers was shut in by staff at a large Colyrut depot, they just closed the door and walked away.
Most walk in commercial friges and freezers also have failsafe locks.
I thought the OP was a load of bollocks, just my personal opinion of course.

Elegran Thu 23-Jun-16 12:48:08

I rest my case, obieone, since you prove it for me better than I can and demonstrate that you have the attitude which CAUSES wars.

I will not list all the things I COULD say. They would probably make you report my post as being nasty to you, and in any case you have shown over at least two lifetimes on Gransnet that you don't listen to anything from anyone else.

willsmadnan Thu 23-Jun-16 12:51:57

Scare-mongering bollocks at that Felice. And has the Op not noticed there has been a war in Europe since the creation of the EU? Ok, the countries involved weren't in the EU at that time, but a united Europe still couldn't prevent the Balkans attrocities.

Elegran Thu 23-Jun-16 12:52:51

One point - what led to WW2 was Germany invading the countries of other people with tanks and occupying them. Those who were invaded didn't like it. Other countries joined in.

Alea Thu 23-Jun-16 13:00:02

googled it. I think it was Aryan

About 8 letters I think you said?

Ditto what everybody else has said about causes of WWII, loads of bollocks, scaremongering etc etc etc.

Elegran Thu 23-Jun-16 13:25:57

It was not the presence of any of these groups that led to war, it was other factors entirely.

The Aryan connection (if that is what you meant, and I still hope it wasn't) is to the assumption of white supremacy (particularly the supremacy of the blond blue-eyed pure-blooded germanic type).

THAT is what led the "master race" to hound, revile, arrest, sterilize, imprison, and eventually apply the "final solution" of the gas chambers to anyone who didn't fit that stereotype - the disabled, the mentally ill, the religiously unusual, the slow to learn, Gypsies, Jews, anyone different.

Today we would call it racism or genocide. The attitude of hatred whipped up towards them caused unbelievable acts to be carried out.

If anyone whips up hatred toward any group of society, then the blamed for any bloodshed that ensues is down to THEM not the group they have demonised.

Jane10 Thu 23-Jun-16 13:27:09

It certainly feels like war on Gransnet!

morethan2 Thu 23-Jun-16 14:40:05

In or out if there was a war that involved Europe it's a little naive to think we wouldn't be involve, of course we would. simple because it would affect us too. I agree with Anya re civil unrest but I've made no secret of that. I think pockets of civil unrest is probably a foregone conclusion in lots of European countries and there's not a lot we can do about it now. The whole situation has been mishandled by all these very thick as pig shit silly politicians

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 14:46:08

morethan I am worried about this Pandora's box. None of it will be easy to put away. Our politicians have handled this so badly and have encouraged all the animosity and naked nationalism. I hope they don't live to regret it.

granjura Thu 23-Jun-16 15:00:43

agreed, a nasty can of worms has been opened- and pushing them back and closing the lid is going to be almost impossible.

And it is not the EU migrants I'd fear either.

WilmaKnickersfit Thu 23-Jun-16 15:02:19

I agree, both about civil unrest and how bad the politicians on both sides have handled the process. It's been like an episode of House of Cards sometimes (the BBC version). Apprehensive about the fallout.

Jalima Thu 23-Jun-16 16:22:29

Do you mean a united Europe against somewhere else?
or between countries in Europe?

confused

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 16:30:53

I think that whatever the vote is on Friday it will say zero
Leave -God only knows what's in front of us
Remain - all politicians must pull themselves together and understand what the electorate were saying and make sure they act on it.

whitewave Thu 23-Jun-16 16:31:25

Day zero!!!!

durhamjen Thu 23-Jun-16 16:31:29

Nevermind, obieone. Soontobe over. Just another few hours.

Michael Gove, justice secretary, has said if remain win he might resign from government. I know lots of better reasons to vote remain, but that will do for one.

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 16:48:53

Neither Jalima.

Far right/neo Nazi groups against whoever they are angry against if they haven't been appeased.
And whichever nutters try to use that anger for their own ends.

Maggiemaybe Thu 23-Jun-16 17:01:09

That would be a result, durhamjen, but I don't think he'll keep his word, unfortunately.

As for nutters using anger, obieone, check out the outpouring of hate on Facebook right now from the nutters who are promising we'll have riots if the vote doesn't go their way (leave), because it'll all have been a fix apparently if that happens. Oh, and they'll be on the front line teaching us all a lesson. I'm absolutely gobsmacked at the company some of my friends are now happy to keep.

Anniebach Thu 23-Jun-16 17:03:39

Gove may Resign ? Oh please let the in vote win

granjura Thu 23-Jun-16 17:20:21

Maggie- the enemy within is often a lot more dangerous than the 'supposed' enemy without sad

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 17:35:05

I am not surprised at all Maggiemaybe. Hence my concern and the thread.

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 17:36:58

In a way, it has been good that so many of the polls are so even.
It might help dispel some trouble after today if the vote is remain.

obieone Thu 23-Jun-16 17:38:08

I dont think it will calm the right wing in Europe though.

granjura Thu 23-Jun-16 17:44:52

Oh I get you now- you've voted OUT in order to pacify the ultra right wing like EDL, Britain First and the NF- and the extremes of UKIP. Makes more sense now.
