Chewing gum incident made me laugh nonnie saying that get frequent laughs on gransnet some posters are very witty (thanks)

Laughed at the loss of the chewing gum and wonder if we're long lost relatives?

That linen cupboard is exactly like the one we had in our first house when I moved from Scotland to England in my teens. I thought all double bayed semis had one like that in that spot. Never occurred to me that someone had built it there.

My H and I have a group of friends we see regularly and always have lots of fun , roaring with laughter frequently. I also go to U3A French which is hilarious. We are reading Le Petit Nicolas which has us all in stitches!

Just making the best of what I have (and I have plenty when I stop to think about it)and thinking about the many family members or friends who have not made it to my ripe old age (64) continues to give me the motivation to enjoy my life. Plenty to moan about, sure, but one hug from any of my grandchildren and I feel blessed.

Even if I didn't have five wonderful grandchildren, and two grown up children and spouses, how wonderful life is really, just to waken up and have no pressure or real health issues. Truly blessed and grateful.

Nonnie1, I can't help speculating about when (or where) your gum will turn up. A guest in your spare bed might find it between his toes one night. I wonder if your cats have discovered your linen cupboard? I had a very crafty cat who would always find his way into the linen cupboard as soon as my back was turned - he looked so comfortable, lying, paws tucked under him, on top of a pile of nice warm towels, that I felt bad about turfing him out.

I prefer being older and enjoying more of life in a temperate, contented way rather than the ups and downs of youth where ecstasy was paid for by misery. I see the roller coaster of emotions my daughter lives in and the highs of the weeekend are always followed by the trough of doom on Monday morning. I think, 'Phew! Not me any more,' when I get the dreaded Monday misery call.

I had a lovely experience of making a coach party laugh today.
We were just about to go through a very tight entrance to a stately home with our huge coach, when I shouted out "breath in everyone" and you know not only did they all laugh but I'm sure I heard a collective intake of breath as we passed through!

Oh Nonnie1,I laughed and laughed about the cats in the loft and the missing chewing gum! That will turn up in the middle of the night attached to a sheet won't it, and it will have gone all tacky, or even better, on a guests sheet! Deep joy, thank you!
