I am trying to get H used to the idea that I won't be able to wait on him hand and foot!!!
I have my D on standby for when I get home, she will come for a week. My very sensible GD is coming to sleep while I am in hospital which I am told will be 3/5 days and my cleaner will come and keep us clean and tidy as often as we want.
I hope my S will rally round and help as much as he can. I will fill the freezer and we will cope with ready meals, it won't hurt us for a few weeks. WE WiLL COPE, WE WILL COPE....

A good clear out of "Stuff" is always very satisfying, makes space for the next collection.

WOT I am on a very late catchup here I was away all weekend. Eating Japanese Knotweed sounds a great idea.

As for stock cubes I now always buy Kallo very low salt vegetarian stock cubes. I have found almost all other brands far too salty and ruin some dishes, particularly soups. You can always add more yourself.
Even our ASDA has started selling the very low salt version.

Dgs aged 9 days, being very chilled out about everything (except nappy changes well, would you want a cold baby wipe around your whotsits? and bath time, much to his older brother's chagrin!)
Finally I got round to kondo'ing my clothes today, and that's the whole house done (DH is supposed to be tackling the attic --because he filled it with cr*p--), feeling very pleased with myself!

He's gorgeous loopy those of us with our families complete envy you these new lives.

Ahh! Another wee baby.

When DGS was two ish he started complaing that baby bottom wipes were cold and could mummy warm them up.

Loopylou With DGS2 my daughter discovered that if you put a tiny baby in a warm baby bath up to his neck they went all calm and quiet and did not scream. It's the back in the womb feeling.

He's the absolute opposite of his brother at that age (who rarely slept, poor parents!), I don't think DS and DDIL can quite believe it, although there's plenty of time to change ?
His big brother ( 'I'm two-and-two-thirds' ) thinks he's lovely but is quite disappointed that he doesn't have teeth ?

Yes, DDIL is Italian and DGS is bilingual lucky little boy.

Oh that's nice. My DH (Nonno) is teaching the ages 3 and 4 DGC little bits of Italian. Much love to baby Luca and hope we can see more pics later

Baby's name? Still not certain. Poor DD and SIL had their first night at home - do we all remember that?? And it was a nightmare. They finished up feeding just about all night - because he has a tongue tie,feeding is hard and I am not sure her milk was actually in yet, but she is also expressing as he will take a little bottle, but only being 3 days old, only tiny quantities. My heart goes out to them but things WILL improve and of course they are worried that they are doing things "wrong" and need reassurance that there is no "wrong" if a baby wants feeding, you feed him!! None of that Gina Ford nonsense. I am sure it will settle down and tried to reassure them that I spent most of those early days (well 6 weeks!) in my PJs.
I would so like to swoop in, but SIL is very good and hands on and I am NOT going to interfere, as they need to establish themselves as a little family. Of course if they asked e,g. When SIL has to go back to work, I would not dream of leaving them to flounder!
Today I had a treat - 2 exhibitions at the V&A - "Undressed" a history of underwear, and "Botticelli Reimagined" or as someone commented "Knickers and Knockers"

Lona I do hope you get your flat/apartment. As for storage, you will probably find you develop all sorts of ways of storing things. It does make you consider before you buy...where am I going to put it. So it can be a good thing.

Oh Luca is a LOVELY name and what a lovely baby. Good tip about being in the warm water, DD and SIL might like that.

These babies are just so cute. Alea SIL will be going back to work for a rest I think but I do not know what he is going to do during the night unless he emigrates!
Hopefully they will get into a routine fairly soon and get a few hours sleep.

I have spent hours on line trying to sort out house and contents insurance and it was not helped, once I had decided, that I could not pay because there was a glitch at the other end. I had no objection to free house insurance but they were less enthralled with the idea but it is £100 a year cheaper and I get more for my money. It was sorted an hour later. I cannot wait, my car insurance is due early July.

Just a quick post from me .Grampy is in the wars and we are at the hospital. Nothing major - a badly swollen big toe joint which is painful. Trouble is it could be a brown widow spider bite which can be nasty, so just getting it checked out .

Of course if you asked Grampy he would say he's only here to humour me but as long as he gets checked out I don't care about the reasoning .
