Believe it or not we have three more weeks but only one with them. Jackson has already said he likes this world best , so I think he'll be an unhappy little chap going home.

I hope I'm not boring you all rigid!! I think this will be our last overseas holiday with them so we have been making a lot of memories . Today at the Magical Kingdom ( as the boys say) to Jacksons HUGE delight he was selected by a Johnny Depp look a like to be a pirate in the stage show ! As a 4 year old this was an enormous honour lol and he buckled his swash with the best of them!

Tomorrow we leave here and they will spend their last week with us at Disneys Beach Club for lots of swimming and fun.

We say mardy round here but my nan used to say nowty. In my head nowty is up a notch from mardy. And i was nowty

Wonderful memories for everyone nandg. Jackson makes an enviable pirate. Brave little lad. Love seeing the photos. . Soop I won't be in the kitchen for the rest of today and possibly tomorrow but fingers will be crossed for a positive x-ray outcome.

We've always used nowty for 'grumpy/irritable' and mardy was for crying when you fell over, instead of being brave. "Stop being mardy/a mard arse, you've still got another leg!"

Lona if only I had a £ for every time I was told to stop being a mard arse I would be in the Caribbean right now and nowty means contrary or whingy/out of sorts in my house.

Visitors gone now so can pay more attention here.

Alea love photos of the new born - will have to wait a few more years for babies in my family.

NanaandGrampy I love looking back on photos of the grandchildren and probably bore my friends with them. Lovely to have such a long holiday with them.

Think I will be on strike on the cooking side for a few days. Think I have been running a hotel for the last week. Reminds me of the time my parents arrived at my grandparents house to find a sign outside saying 'b&b closed'.

The weather has turned cold and wet here, heating is back on - did I miss summer?

Alea I forgot to mention the beautiful blanket that you made for the new baby. It's perfect. I trust that the little family is catching up on some much-needed rest.

Lona It must be comforting to have the same agent looking after your interests regarding renting a suitable property.

Tizliz x-ray tomorrow. Jalima and dustyangel I do use a pillow under my legs. I think that the pain may stem from the knee. One leg has to more-or-less support most of my weight. The right leg is shorter and very much weaker. We shall see.

It's a greyish day. The islands are hiding behind a veil of mist.

I've decided to sort the contents of the airing cupboard and put winter blankets and suchlike into cotton, zipped storage bags.
Only trouble is...the shelves concerned are in the utility room. In which Bracken and Rory are sharing the mat. I therefore need to get "tough" (the moment I open the door, Bracken will scarper)... I shall give them another hour together. Daft as a brush...me!

soop you are thinking of disturbing MY adopted cats? How could you and shame on you! They are enjoying much needed time together. A pity that Bracken does not trust you a bit more but hopefully with time she will.

NanaandGrampy I am certain I speak for 99% of the kitcheners but we love to see and hear the exploits of Jackson and Cooper and the fabulous holiday that they are having. Hopefully their mum and dad are rested and the grandparents are not overworked. It is lovely seeing children enjoying life in the fresh air and are not glued to computers or TVs.

Lona I do hope that everything goes smoothly. I love buying and selling houses, my talents were wasted methinks.

* NanaandG* your photographs are bringing back lots of memories for me, of the early years of three generation holidays when our DGC where younger. I think children gain so much from simple things in the fresh air when parents and grandparents are relaxed and have a lot more time for them. Ours are still enjoying them now they are in their early twenties and bringing their partners with them. Hopefully we will still be around when they have their own children and we can have four generation holdidays.

If the sale goes through, I have definitely got the flat! It's a relief because most flats are very small with no outside space, which would make me feel claustrophobic. This one has a lovely light, large sitting/dining area, with a balcony and a beautiful shared garden.
No cupboard/storage space but I don't care!

Charleyg After a decent period (allowing cats to remain on the mat) I performed the job that I wanted to do. Everything looking so much tidier.
Rory fast asleep on the reclining chair and Bracken asleep in her lodge. I have tried to take a photo of her through the bedroom window. You will just about be able to see her tucked away in the rear of her lodge. As it has been showery I aired her carpet and then placed clean, dry newspapers over the top. She'll remain there until five o'clock. It's such a tough life!

dustyangel Photograph albums are precious. We've lost count of the number that we've filled over the years. In our wills, we have made a note to family to treasure them. In today's digital age many images may well be deleted. Such a pity.

I have just returned from a session at the physiotherapy dept of the local hospital which was to inform a small group of us just what to expect when we have our TKR. It was very informative if a little scary as to the pain to be expected, however the woman who I chattered to had her first done last August and can't wait to get the second done. The consensus from her and one another was that the pain is a small price to pay for the benefit.

annsixty It's always beneficial to speak to someone who knows from experience what it is that you are facing. Please continue to update us lot.

I nearly added something about the pleasure of photograph albums and old fashioned photographs. Found an old packet of ours at DD1's a couple of weeks ago. They caused much hilarity and a lot of enjoyable reminisces, DD2 didn't recognise her 16 year old self!

annsixty it certainly shows what a difference the op makes when people go back a second time.
Have you been able to make arrangements for your convalescence yet?

Been for a renal CT scan this morning, perfectly pleasant but in the last hour I feel awful, hot, flushed, stiff neck, I suspect it is the after effects of the injections they gave me during the scans.
Cake would help !! anybody ?

I've had an almighty clear out (again) of "stuff" that has been cluttering shelving and such. It's a good feeling to have the space to see (at a glance) what it is that I'm hunting for. I've now made a pact with myself. No more searching on eBay for a bargain. I'm through with hoarding. I'm through with hoarding. Repeat after me...I'm through with hoarding. Sigh!

Tomorrow, after the x-ray we'll be visiting our pal in the care home. Just as soon as I return, I shall call in for catch up. Enjoy your evening.
