I also have a flooded garden. Just a few miles from ann, I looked out of my back door after a good two hours of tropical rain, and found that there was a river flowing down the side of my house and tumbling down the terraces of my garden, to meet up with the brook that runs along the end. The road outside was completely awash. I'm lucky in that my house is at the top of a slope, so the water just ran past, leaving a horrid, muddy mess. The end of the garden had become a small lake. I've lived here for 16 years and never seen anything like it. I hope I never will again.

Hello all. I did not bring any ice cream today. Hubby and I have have just finished the last tub of our ginger wine ice cream with the last half of a large mango and a banana. If there is a mix of flavours that are made in heaven it is those.

I will buy some more crystallized ginger before I can make another batch. I need a greedy emoticon.

It transpires,thank goodness,that water penetrated no further than the porch which is tiled and easily cleaned. They are waiting for someone (I don't know who) to come and switch the electricity back on if it is safe. I am so relieved, in all the years we have been here flooding has been the last thing ever on our mind.

How horrible for your ex DIL and her family Ann, and I was thinking that at least you've had a restful afternoon with your DH watching football. DD2's garden frequently looks like yours in the winter, which can be worrying, but so far no ill effects apart from a permanently squelchy very green lawn.

I'm glad to see that you are living up to your name and celebrating World Gin Day GandTea. I'm sure both the weather and gig will be fine tomorrow.

I've had to go to the local health centre for Vitamin B injections on alternate days this week. For something that shouldn't take long it seems to take up a remarkable amount of time. Combined with a front filling falling out ( it's been fixed) I don't seem to have achieved much this week.

I hope soop has had good weather for the garden party. I'm posting a photo of our petunias for her, and some wild flowers as well.

The day went well. I thought that the television coverage was first class. Our land knows how to do Pomp with great panache. Immaculate drill and super horses. I had a lump in my throat.

The village hall do was fun. I had my elderflower cordial spiked with Champagne. No complaints! The entertainment was home-grown and had everyone tapping their feet to Barber Shop songs celebrating the various decades of the Queen's life. I'm uploading a photo of the hat that I made and one of MacS wearing his Tesco medals for being the best at most things. The small camera refuses to upload at the mo'. I'm very cross with it. Perhaps by tomorrow I shall have it sorted.

So sorry to have to rush away. I shall be able to call in tomorrow and recap on all your messages.

Oh Ann, what a shame, I always feel for people who get flooded out of their homes, it`s what`s left when the water goes down that`s the worst part.

My ex DiL has gone away 4 night and the house has flooded,about 2 miles from me. G D has gone home from her Sat job but fire services are blocking the nearby roads and she can't get near.

The Red Arrows were going to combine the two events - I have put the gig out of my mind now, where it should be, we have another tomorrow, had hoped it would be rained off, but,no, the forecast is good now

Sitting here with a very large G&T, drowning my sorrows. Our gig this afternoon was our worst ever, bloody awful. And the Red Arrows failed to turn up for Mrs P.s birthday as I had requested.

I have not heard of that site before, nosybags must investigate!

I almost bought a microwave with does everything, is an air fryer, and heaven knows what else but I read the reviews first and the instruction book was unintelligible so that saved me money.

Looks a bit damp Ann! We left the Gtr. Manchester area in 1977, but still have family there, my husband`s family, anyway.

The first football row occurred a short while ago. He objected to my waking him up and telling him that the football was on for him, we`re not interested, I was told to get back to my bloody computer! 2 more matches today, oh joy!
I took the plunge late last night and ordered something from the Zulily website, I`ve been looking and dithering over the site for a while. I just hope they`re alright, don`t fancy sending them back to the USA!

ann if that keeps your DH occupied while you can do something that you want, I take back all that I have said about football. I may well watch the England game this evening and I would definitely have watched the Scottish game but as they did not make it that is more time to myself.

It is humid here but the sun does peep out occasionally. At least my washing will dry.
