Alea They obviously stopped the procedure for sound medical reasons but what a B****y nuisance. Take care of stressed out self.

Tizliz Wed 08-Jun-16 17:42:12

Alea hope the Oxford to MK bus was OK? Have you got to go back that way tomorrow? Or will they send him home via ambulance? I am not very good at travelling so you have my sympathy.

soop Wed 08-Jun-16 17:46:18

Dear Alea - although I must log off and attend to "stuff", I want you to know that you and your husband will remain in my thoughts. I wish that you had someone to take you home. The day has been long and stressful. To have to think about transport is something that you could well do without. Tomorrow may hopefully bring brighter news. Us lot send our love.

GandTea Wed 08-Jun-16 17:51:06

Oh yes, we are still married, planning our golden wedding next year.

varian Wed 08-Jun-16 19:31:29

Our elderflower is just coming out - time to make elderflower cordial - a lovely non-alcoholic drink for the golden wedding party.

cornergran Wed 08-Jun-16 20:07:46

Can only hope the non-operation will work out for your DH alea, you sound very pragmatic but there must be huge disappointment.

Lona Wed 08-Jun-16 20:25:15

Alea you cope so well, it's for the best obviously that they stopped but so frustrating for you both flowers
Look after yourself.
ann one of these days we may meet in the waiting room of the eye clinic! Hope you are managing in the gloom.flowers
GandTea Good news re the tumour, let's hope they sort your kidney out soon.

annsixty Wed 08-Jun-16 20:43:15

Yes Lona I am still in the gloom. It was clinic J upstairs yesterday, clinic D the last two times. I have opted for the Alex for my injections for the time being. I will decide further when my knee is done. I don't want Man until then.

Bellanonna Wed 08-Jun-16 21:15:51

Ann are you having a full knee replacement.? I'm being allowed a final cortisone jab next week and then apparently that's it. I walk with a stiffened left leg which is neither practical nor elegant but if I try to walk normally it!s very painful. I will have to go for the big op at some point. Did they tell you how long you might wait? Will you have some help afterwards? I dread the prospect of it, but pain is a helpful factor in decision making. So sorry you have eye problems at the same time. I have my chest infection back so am coughing for England, oh and the rest of the U.K. Woeful times for a lot of us. At least the sun keeps making an appearance☀️

annsixty Wed 08-Jun-16 21:40:28

Yes Bella a TKR. I went for the injection but the x- rays showed the joints were past that stage, a replacement was the only soulution.
I was quoted 6/8 weeks which I took with a pinch of salt but I did ask about self funding which would have depleted the coffers but the surgeon told me not to waste my money which was very good of him. He said the treatment I would get would be the same, the replacement joint would be the same,I just would not get a private room and luxury surroundings and I settled for that. I went on the list 4 weeks ago tomorrow. I couldn't go on the cancellation list as I need time to make arrangements for my H who has Alzheimer's to be cared for. I do hope you get re!ief from the injection as I have heard very good results when it is suitable.

Alea Wed 08-Jun-16 21:58:14

Thanks for all your kind words.
What can't be cured must be endured smile
My one BAD decision however was the bus into the city centre- total traffic chaos, roadworks, jams like there was no tomorrow and we seemed to go round every housing estate between the JR and the centre.

annsixty Wed 08-Jun-16 22:07:55

"What can't be cured must be endured".
A Mantra to be lived by. But oh so hard. You have my total admiration. One very tough lady.

Bellanonna Wed 08-Jun-16 22:52:13

Thanks ann. Keep us updated. That was very fair of the surgeon.
Alea. Try and have a good night,s sleep.

Charleygirl Thu 09-Jun-16 09:18:39

Oh dear Alea you needed that like a hole in the head. I suppose the only positive thing is that you do not take your DH home that route today if he is being discharged. It never gets any easier does it?

Poor Tara did not come home last night until after 10.30pm- no food or water for many hours. Bully boy has reappeared and I am assuming stopped her from coming in. I went to have a shower, heard what sounded like a battering ram at the cat flap so I knew that he had returned. I opened the door, he was not to be seen but a terrified baby girl ran in the door. She and I slept well once I knew that she was safe.

Alea Thu 09-Jun-16 09:25:33

Oh poor little cat sad

Tegan Thu 09-Jun-16 09:38:57

It's why I don't have cats any more, much as I love them. Used to worry myself sick if they came home late.

Alea Thu 09-Jun-16 09:42:31

A bit like teenagers really hmm

GandTea Thu 09-Jun-16 09:58:30

At least they don't phone at 2am to say "Dad, I've missed the last train, could you ....."

Judthepud2 Thu 09-Jun-16 10:32:34

Hello all. Haven't been here for a while. Just popped in to catch up and get some soul soothing. A lot of difficult stuff to deal with recently which I can't talk about but felt I needed to sit down quietly in Soop's kitchen and have a little brew

Life's not a bed of roses for many of us, is it? At least I don't have the poor health problems like so many of you. flowers Alea and Ann

Nelliemoser Thu 09-Jun-16 11:03:53

As a treat I have just put some raspberry ice cream in the freezer. The raspberries were on a short day offer so I had to buy this bargain. So enjoy.
As I made it I get the pleasure of cleaning out the bowl and the tools of my icecream maker.

Nelliemoser Thu 09-Jun-16 11:06:14

judthepud2 (((hugs))) for whatever is troubling you.

Alea Thu 09-Jun-16 11:21:43

Raspberries- heaven!
judthepud warmest wishes for a happy outcome to what is going on in your lifeflowers

GandTea Thu 09-Jun-16 11:34:07

All today's chores done, patios cleaned, office dusted, as requested, phone calls made. What mischief can I get up to now grin

Judthepud2 Thu 09-Jun-16 11:41:07

Thanks Nellie and Alea for your hugs and wishes. Just hoping things work out for the best.

Enjoyed my little sit down in the Kitchen. Off to walk the dog. She keeps me focused.

Leaving behind a bottle of 'the black stuff' for GandTea to help with the kidney problem....what little remains after the slugs have been indulging! wink

annsixty Thu 09-Jun-16 12:15:28

Thanks for good wishes Jud it is difficult when you can't share your worries as I know too well. I have family problems I never share. Hope yours soon resolve or at least ease.
At least you can rest here especially if you carry on bringing treats. I hope no-one notices I NEVER share mine ?
