This morning the teenager in our house actually put a new roll of toilet paper in the holder!

Perhaps she's been watching that youtube instruction video that someone posted on another thread some time back wink

Love your responses, kitty, mini, & Lona grin

annodomini Tue 10-May-16 10:41:27

Did she put the roll on the holder the right way round?

Alima Tue 10-May-16 10:45:03

It is good to know that all the training is paying off.

Ah, but did the empty cardboard bit reach the recycling bin ? Or was it on the edge of the basin angry

thatbags Tue 10-May-16 13:27:58

anno, yes!

nina, no! Cardboard cylinder left on the bathroom windowsill, but it's a start grin

This made me laugh out loud and I'm sure will strike a chord with many wives/parents. smile

rubylady Tue 10-May-16 13:56:06

The right way round doesn't matter, as long as they do it! My S (no DS, he's naffed me off today) has just walked out refusing to put rubbish out and put his own clothes on the line! Oh well, help and sympathy over, back to him being an asshole. hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 10-May-16 13:59:42

Bags grin Thanks for the chuckle.

merlotgran Tue 10-May-16 14:01:58

Did she fold a pointy end on the first sheet to prove it's FRESH like they do on Four in a Bed? grin

thatbags Tue 10-May-16 14:15:21

merlot, [snort!] grin

Nelliemoser Tue 10-May-16 16:22:34

She has offered to drag bins up the hill too. If I bring them up after they've been emptied, I tow them behind the car! It's hard work. Mind you I'm sixty and slightly decrepit; she's fifteen. I was stronger then too. Good on ya, minibags! smile

NellieM I keep cardboard toilet roll inners to plant sweet pea seeds in, so I have a good excuse for stockpiling them.

(I bring home the big blue plastic mushroom boxes from the supermarket, stand the tubes upright in them and fill up the whole thing with compost. The sweet pea roots grow down separately and don't get tangled. You don't even need to take the tubes off for planting out, if you plant them deep enough to cover the cardboard)

Sounds as though your resident teenager is rejoining the human race.

Indinana Wed 11-May-16 09:48:23

This will give hope to so many people with teenage children - perhaps you should post this over on 'the other side' too grin

harrigran Wed 11-May-16 09:48:34

That pointy thing with the toilet paper, I do that. When I clean the bathrooms I replace the toilet roll and fold the end, guest bathroom only, DH knows to use that bathroom at his peril if I am expecting visitors. I do stop short of putting tape across the loo seat the way posh hotels do grin

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-May-16 10:07:55

She loves ya Bags. She wants to help her old mum. smile

Maggiemaybe Wed 11-May-16 10:13:48

Somebody keeps doing this at my house, too. Unfortunately the wrong way round. Sometimes they take off a half full roll then replace it the wrong way round. I am launching an investigation. Operation Illegal Overhang.

merlotgran Wed 11-May-16 18:48:28

Can somebody tell me what is the right way round?

I like the loo paper to feed from behind the roll.....Is that wrong? confused

Indinana Wed 11-May-16 19:13:00

I like it to feed from the front - it's a habit I got into when our then bathroom had painted walls (tiles only round the bath) and dirty little fingers weren't always careful to avoid the wall when unrolling the loo paper shock

annsixty Wed 11-May-16 19:14:18

I like it that way merlot it tears better for me.
