Dear morethan2 I was about to add my "tale of half term woe" to the previous thread and decided not to after reading your post. Somehow everything else seemed to pale into insignificance and I was lost for words. I still am to be honest, but here goes....

It just goes to show though that none of us know what is just around the corner do we? One minute we are as "normal" as the next person, with the usual ups and downs and the next our lives are blown out of control.

You are in no way "undeserving" of the feelings of sadness. You love your family and don't want to see any part of it hurting, which is normal. You are going to be wonderfully supportive to your DS and DGC through this and cry in private. How much more deserving can you be?

I thought I would add that my mum was diagnosed with BC that spread from the breast into her shoulder and back over 18 years ago. She has had 3 operations to remove affected bones and replaced with rods and/or cement. Her BC is incurable but she is still here after all these years. Do try and think positive if you can. The oncologists are marvelous, likewise the pain management teams.

Thinking of you and your family. flowers

We're all still reeling from the horror of it. This time last week our lives were normal, like everyone else's. A bit bumpy here and there but normal. It's been awful. Holding it together when we're with them, then crying either in the car or in bed. My normally supportive family can't support us because they are horribly distressed. I've been to work because I don't know what else to do. Treatment has started but it's palliative. We've arranged a second opinion. The thing is I know it's much worse for her side of the family so I feel our side is undeserving, does that make sense, but then FFS nothing makes sense anymore. I feel unable to ask any questions. I don't want to make people feel worse or be insensitive. We've told our son he can count on us,he knows that anyway. He's asked if I'd give up work and help and of course I will. She's not in pain anymore so I suppose that's somthing. They say she can come home soon and just return daily for treatment. So we shall wait and prey for a miracle. Thank you kindly for your messages of comfort but mostly for your prayers and positive thoughts
