That was a lovely photo of your robin friend NanaandG. It's a pity you wouldnt be able to get close enough to get the detail of his feathers.

Your photos brought back memories for me soop. We moved in here in 2002 with the house only half finished. We coped fine with it even when DD1 and family visited but when I look back I wonder if I used up all my energy then.
Despite this we have been planning to have an outbuilding rebuilt to make a level, easily managed place for the two of us. I've told the builder that if it takes any longer we will be too old to enjoy it.

We are off to visit DD and SiL in Edinburgh tomorrow. They have been in their early Victorian house for fourteen years now and still haven't finished decorating all the rooms. DD is such a perfectionist, unlike her mother, and takes all the surfaces right back before decorating them.The living room walls have revealed the signatures of previous owners going way back. As the walls are to be re plastered she has taken photos. of the names. I'm not sure where we are going to sit because virtually the whole house is in a state of disarray but it doesn't seem to bother them; it would drive me mad in no time.

Thanks Soop , I do love the little red breasted chap, but for my photoclass this month the theme is 'up close' so Im going to have to put my thinking cap on !

The rain has ceased. Rory refuses to step a paw outside the door. He's very fussy about where he walks. Doesn't approve of puddles.

I'm off to tend to a few domestic jobs. That time of day...again. Doesn't time fly! I shall log off. Wish you all a peaceful evening, and hope to catch up again tomorrow.

You too, Tricia. I came across a photo of our pals taken four years ago. They appear to be so well and happy. All that has changed. What we are left with are a few happy memories of time spent in their company.

As you say, soop, we are the lucky ones having a cosy home to return to (and eachother.)

A couple of photos taken during our house build in 2004. I was very fit and did all the painting and indoor decorating and landscaping of our garden-to-be.

...tip-toes into our Kitchen I hear that Galen is on the warpath. Takes a sneaky look around the door. Shuffles quietly over to say hello to our lovely Kitcheners.

The cough appears to have reached it's peak. He (*MacSporran*) is still fairly perky. He hasn't a temperature. He isn't aching all over. He wishes me to tell his favourite GRANSPALS... you lot, that he's coping and wishes to continue doing so. He believes that his own body knows best...no need for intervention. I'm therefore standing back and have quit nagging. Next month he has another scan and a trip to the specialist to look forward to. Stubborn is one word I would use to describe my man.

The weather is dire. Peeing with rain and blustery with it.

Bellasnana Our Galen is a softie at heart. You will have a perfectly swell time out on the high seas.

Charleygirl Your plasterer appears to have done a pleasing job. Slowly but surely you are making good progress. When we lived in the caravan, during our house build, we had to clear up after the builders night after night. We had overalls and paper masks. It was HARD work. We were ten years younger and very much fitter.

The visit to the care home went as well as such visits can. Our pal enjoys our company. We are the lucky ones. We have a cosy home to return to.

Provided that you behave and toe the line you will be fine. MacSporran has not obeyed soop Galen and others so the wrath of God or whoever will be upon him.

He should know by now that he gets nothing but sound advice from us lot.

The plastering was finished today. They cleaned up but I have been washing the floors etc and will need to do them again later. A good job that I do not have carpets. A painter is popping around next week to give me a quote.

The house is getting warm at last- they were born in fields so I switched off the heating- there is no point wasting money. It was barely 3C here but the sun was shining. Rain is forecast for later, cannot wait.

Ooh heck! I'm getting a bit nervous of going on the cruise with Galen if she's going to go bold and UPPER CASE on me! I shall have to watch out

soop is there any way that MacSporran could get an appointment tomorrow, Friday? Can we not get through to him the seriousness of the problem? Galen will have loads of help from us lot.

I'll personally bash him over the head with my cast iron frying pan. Throw him over the back of my scooter and haul him down!

Tizliz I feel the latter. I think that people should take more responsibility for their actions at this time of year. The weather can change instantly as we all know and they are putting other people's lives at risk.

soop if MacSporran does not go to the surgery asap he may find himself escorted to the surgery by us lot and I would not like him to be embarrassed.

soop hope your weather improves, but seeing how much trouble the mountain rescue are having at Ben Nevis I feel that you are not having the sunshine that we have had here all day. Not sure whether to feel sorry for the missing climbers or annoyed that they are putting so many rescuers at risk.

imperfect please find out how to download your photos to the pc incase you lose your phone. It should just be a matter of connecting your phone to the pc using the charger cable and follow the instructions. Feel free to PM me if you need help - not that I am a techie but I can try to help.

I'm going to wish all our Kitcheners a peaceful Thursday evening. I did my pal's ironing this morning. It's now time to tackle my own.

Care home visit in the morning. Tesco shop after coffee in the Royal I shall call in once I return home.

I've a painting of a dog called Millie, waiting in the wings. She belongs to one of the friendly carers.

Alea Galen and dusty ...MacS continues to cough. Would you believe that he was asked to attend the surgery this morning (bloods needed for his next CT scan)...he returned home having not said a dickie bird about the cough. I almost hit him over the head with a saucepan.

Badenkate Any flower that is "forced," loses it's perfume. There is nothing to match a natural flower, no matter how humble. As for your sticky gingerbread...I'm drooling at the very thought of a huge small slice. What's this about adding fruit to a mix? What am I missing?

Imperfect Your crusty bread would be much appreciated by many. I shall toast it and smother it with real butter and Marmite. I wish... We have an entire library of photo albums. They languish until we are "no longer here" and then the family may wish to enjoy the fruits of our labour.

tizliz and anno We had a serious hail shower earlier today. One minute the sun was shining...and then a dirty black cloud opened up and made walking very tricky. Now it is calm and the hail has morphed into light rain.

Hello all. Just popping in to check I was in the right place. I've brought a few and a chilled ? as a kitchen warming. Must rush! It's half term say no more. It is NOT peaceful around here! ?

At the photoshop the (very) forbearing shop assistant showed me how to send direct to their printers using Bluetooth. Some pics are a bit grainy if the lighting was poor, but lots of lovely ones. My MIL very kindly bought me a 'Brag Book' - a little 6 by 4 photo album for baby pics - I think she got it in a charity shop and perhaps this type of thing has become redundant with the advent of camera phones, but I love having 'real' pictures. I have heard of so many people who have lost a phone and therefore their entire photo album so I want to keep mine 'safe' as I go.

Calorie free cake - perfect! I feel I have been very noble as I have eaten one of my -stones- bread rolls for lunch .

I have brought along a sticky gingerbread cake that I made in my new breadmaker. Luckily it has only virtual calories as I dread to think what it actually has - and I have to say it's delicious?. So far my successes have been light wholemeal bread and fruit tealoaf: the apple and oat tealoaf rather less so ?. But as Mary and Paul always say, when you add fruit to a mix you have to be careful! Anyway - enjoy!!

WhatsApp is a wonderful thing. My son sends videos and photos of my grand-daughter all the time. But it is not very good resolution for printing from. Suggest you download them to the pc and get a 'stick' (can't think of the right word) to put them on for the photoshop (for a moment I thought you meant the software Photoshop and thought you were getting very advanced ) . Or buy a printer - they are so cheap now!
