Yesterday morning I went to visit Mum in the care home and was shocked to find her still in bed and really struggling for breath. She had been on antibiotics for a week to try to clear her chest infection and had appeared to be getting better. The staff had called the gp (twice) and the critical response team. Eventually, they called 999 and mum was blue lighted to hospital - with me going along for the ride.
I was livid with the home as they didn't ring either of my brothers or me to say how serious it was, although they did all the right things as far as mum is concerned. The paramedics and the hospital staff were brilliant (though some of them could have had a better bedside manner) but I was really shocked that the gp didn't appear within 5 hours and nor did the CRT.
Mum was loads better when I left last night!

Odd - weird and wonderful - almost unbelievable - or is it just me?
What was directly across the road from the school you went to?

who were just inefficient and hopeless - there seemed to be no management structure at all. I was so disappointed, as I keep telling people that the NHS is wonderful.
