I can't really crack open a bottle of decent Prosecco when there's just me here, can I?

My pastry only stretched to 19. The blessed Saint Delia said I should have made 3 dozen?!!! That's 36 the last time I worked it out. How?! I used the right sized cutters, and perfectly normal patty tins. tchhmm Impossible.

And the raw pastry, which I normally love, tasted really boring. So much for lard and butter. tchhmm

God bless Mr Waitrose and his ready rolled stuff. Cos that's where I'm heading with the next lot.

Meanwhile, back to the original question. tchsmile

You could try using your teeth on it. Oh no, best not, that's beer bottles isn't it!

Elegran Wed 16-Dec-15 16:13:21

You never know who MIGHT drop in. jings You'd be all ready for them.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 16-Dec-15 16:14:00

True. tchgrin

I can't justify it for two of us so I think the answer is :no.

thatbags Wed 16-Dec-15 16:22:21

Why does it need to be justified? #justdoit

Lakeland have nice little jar of Prosecco gummy bears which would slip over one at a time??

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 16-Dec-15 16:42:08

gillybob Wed 16-Dec-15 16:47:33

Have you not heard the saying jings

A bottle of Prosecco is not just for Christmas

It would be almost cruel to make the poor thing wait.

Go on you know you want to............ grin

annsixty Wed 16-Dec-15 16:49:38

Just me then? tchsmile

Maggiemaybe Wed 16-Dec-15 16:50:22

Of course! I have some kind of gizmo that keeps leftover fizz fizzy.

I can't say whether it works or not, because we've never had any left over. tchgrin

Jane10 Wed 16-Dec-15 16:54:25

I like the M&S little bottles of Prosecco......

annsixty Wed 16-Dec-15 16:55:59

Ooh didn't know about those!!

Jane10 Wed 16-Dec-15 17:02:48

Its lovely stuff and an ideal treat!

Galen Wed 16-Dec-15 17:08:37

I've one of those gizmos as well. They work really well

rosesarered Wed 16-Dec-15 17:33:19

Aren't gizmos those cute little things that you must keep dry, because if they get wet, grow teeth and a temper? ?

Galen Wed 16-Dec-15 17:35:42

No! Those are grandchildren.

rosesarered Wed 16-Dec-15 17:39:01

tchgrin

rosequartz Wed 16-Dec-15 20:07:36

Yes.

We have one of those gizmos to keep champagne fizzy.
Otherwise pop a teaspoon (handle down of course tchgrin) in the top of the bottle and it keeps it quite fizzy.

Otherwise take it up to bed with you (on the grounds that if you drink it downstairs you may not get up the stairs)

Thanks for the tip about the Waitrose pastry, otherwise Tesco does one with Normandy butter, ready-rolled)
and the M&S little bottles of Prosecco

loopylou Wed 16-Dec-15 20:28:06

I have to at least sit down, if not lie down, before I start having fizz because it goes straight to my head (and knees) ?
I wonder if little bottles might be a good idea?

Real lightweight me when it comes to alcohol. I've bought myself some Sloe Gin so will get quietly sozzled in the corner!
?

whitewave Wed 16-Dec-15 20:30:24

I fancy sloe gin- do you mix it with lemonade or what?

loopylou Wed 16-Dec-15 20:35:24

Ice and tonic I think.
I haven't had any for years, made some about 15 years ago and gave it all away.
I wanted to make some this year but haven't got round to it....I think it's a bit late for sloe picking now. I was waiting for a frost but now realise I could have just bunged them in the freezer instead, doh!

annsixty Wed 16-Dec-15 20:38:27

Damsons are just as good but still too late for this year. I only drink it neat and it's delicious (and alcoholic).
