Has anyone looked at this year's Xmas stamp? The designers certainly needed to as it definitely looks as if Mary is playing keyboard while Joseph is on lead vocals. I've seen it on a lot of sites and have to agree.

I'm too tight for 1st class but..yes....she's definitely playing the keyboards. grin.

The backing group of shepherds and angels are late - have they stopped off at the inn for refreshments?

Greyduster Wed 16-Dec-15 11:16:50

Any guesses as to what she's playing?

Greyduster Wed 16-Dec-15 11:17:25

Starry starry night?

Alea Wed 16-Dec-15 11:27:44

"How-ow far is it to Bethlehem......."???

Galen Wed 16-Dec-15 11:31:41

No! She doesn't look pregnant so, she must have arrived.
How about 'the fight is over, the battle won'

Definitely a keyboard, look at the X stand tchgrin

'Unto us a Child is Born'

Better sung with backing group and descant though! - hurry up shepherds!

Wandering Star?

So here it is Merry Christmas
Everybody's having fun
look to the future now
its only just beg.......un

I love that stamp and would like to think that the "keyboard effect" was someone's idea of a cheeky joke.

Not much of a stable is it?

rosesarered Wed 16-Dec-15 17:20:07

More of an unstable!

Ana Wed 16-Dec-15 17:32:37

Maybe it's a fold-up changing table!

rosesarered Wed 16-Dec-15 17:34:16

From IKEA?

Elegran Wed 16-Dec-15 17:38:25

For packing on the donkey.

apricot Wed 16-Dec-15 18:37:52

Realistically one donkey would never have been enough. Mary and Joseph would need buggy, car seat, sling, nappies, wipes, vests, babygros, shawl, muslins, cardies, snowsuit, Moses basket and bedding (they didn't know there would be a manger available), intercom, room thermometer, mobile, teddy bear etc etc. Depends how influenced they'd been by Mumsnet, Mothercare, NCT friends but no way would even the basics fit on the average donkey along with a 40 weeks pregnant woman.
I only hope there was room in that stable for all the cards and "IT'S A BOY!" helium balloons. At least the keyboard could double as a changing table.

Joseph is doing his Elvis impression, so they are obviously playing their version of "In the ghetto"

At least the Christmas stamps have raised a giggle or two!

Does anyone know what the red blob is on the 2nd class stamp? Something artistic I think, but I just can't make it out and no-one I've asked about it is sure. Someone thought it was a red crab.

Thanks v much!

Ana Thu 17-Dec-15 12:40:30

Any ideas? tchconfused

Katek Thu 17-Dec-15 12:44:51

Road kill - some unsuspecting desert creature trampled by passing donkey and camels.

Either that or a crab???

trisher Thu 17-Dec-15 12:53:07

It's Rudolph having a quick nap behind a hill. Santa will be cross!

loopylou Thu 17-Dec-15 13:03:14

Road kill. Squashed reindeer.
