Has anyone looked at this year's Xmas stamp? The designers certainly needed to as it definitely looks as if Mary is playing keyboard while Joseph is on lead vocals. I've seen it on a lot of sites and have to agree.

tchhmm

Katek Tue 22-Dec-15 17:55:23

I thought it could be a tail....

Ana Tue 22-Dec-15 17:29:53

Has it got a tail, or is that just a shadow/smudge?

rosesarered Tue 22-Dec-15 17:20:04

An orangey frog?

auntbett Tue 22-Dec-15 16:37:31

Thanks for gransnetters insightful suggestions. Gillybob, I think you may have the answer!!

DH thinks it looks like a Tasmanian Devil! Do you think it got lost or was it following the star from the east?

gillybob Fri 18-Dec-15 07:51:51

The red blob on the second stamp is most definitely reindeer donkey poop !

NanKate Fri 18-Dec-15 07:20:19

We'll this is my first laugh of the day.

The shelter over Mary looks like a giant catapult.

MadMaisie Fri 18-Dec-15 06:59:48

Oh apricot, how you made me giggle! What a lot of stuff to carry.

janepearce6 Thu 17-Dec-15 16:03:19

She's changing a dirty nappy on her baby table - so obvious!

loopylou Thu 17-Dec-15 14:54:54

Our village Post Office has run out of 2nd Class stamps!
That's put the kibosh on posting until more arrive 'possibly Saturday' when last day for 2nd Class post ?

mrshat Thu 17-Dec-15 14:34:51

I think it is supposed to resemble some plant that was around in those days! This information came from the paper, I think, or was it the radio? Lord only knows!! grin

railman Thu 17-Dec-15 14:13:55

I saw a clip of a nativity on the telly the other day which made me laugh.

Joseph & Mary was the scene - could have been outside the stable maternity block, but, Mary (holding the infant Jesus) turns to Joseph and says in a loud and clear voice..... "You're not the Dad!"

I think Mary is destined for greatness as an actress of stage and screen!!

grin

Road kill. Squashed reindeer.

trisher Thu 17-Dec-15 12:53:07

It's Rudolph having a quick nap behind a hill. Santa will be cross!

Katek Thu 17-Dec-15 12:44:51

Road kill - some unsuspecting desert creature trampled by passing donkey and camels.

Either that or a crab???

Ana Thu 17-Dec-15 12:40:30

Any ideas? tchconfused

auntbett Thu 17-Dec-15 12:20:04

At least the Christmas stamps have raised a giggle or two!

Does anyone know what the red blob is on the 2nd class stamp? Something artistic I think, but I just can't make it out and no-one I've asked about it is sure. Someone thought it was a red crab.

Thanks v much!

Joseph is doing his Elvis impression, so they are obviously playing their version of "In the ghetto"
On a cold and grey December dawn
Another little baby boy is born
In the sta-a-able

Realistically one donkey would never have been enough. Mary and Joseph would need buggy, car seat, sling, nappies, wipes, vests, babygros, shawl, muslins, cardies, snowsuit, Moses basket and bedding (they didn't know there would be a manger available), intercom, room thermometer, mobile, teddy bear etc etc. Depends how influenced they'd been by Mumsnet, Mothercare, NCT friends but no way would even the basics fit on the average donkey along with a 40 weeks pregnant woman.
I only hope there was room in that stable for all the cards and "IT'S A BOY!" helium balloons. At least the keyboard could double as a changing table.

Elegran Wed 16-Dec-15 17:38:25

For packing on the donkey.
