We can say what we aim to get done, and then come and say if we have actually done it. tchsmile

Today for me, marzipan on cake, and wrap most of my pressies.

I thought you would choose that jbf. Don't blame you. Do the same as Pittcity and buy your reserve mince pies.

I shall be wrapping ,delivering local cards and shopping.

These things have to be done Greenfinch. And they do do a very nice mince pie. And you can't beat their cuppas. tchshock

Alima Thu 17-Dec-15 11:54:33

Wrapped the last of the pressies. (Unless I find anything else, unlikely as I intend venturing no further than Sainsbury's before it's all over). Also remembered to charge DH's new tablet whilst he is out. Have to keep it hidden from a) DH and b) the kitten who loves chewing through charger wires. Note to self, must stop wrapping presents on the floor. Takes ages for my legs to unwind.

Oh the cobwebs! tchblush (putting decs up)

My living room needs redecorating.

Have posted cards.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 17-Dec-15 12:29:56

Alima tchgrin Yes. That is the worst way to do it.

whitewave Thu 17-Dec-15 12:40:52

I have given in and made a gf Christmas cake -just put it into the oven. Do hope it works.

cornergran Thu 17-Dec-15 13:17:16

Have to re-marzipan the cake. Bought the ready rolled and 5 days on it's getting more and more soggy. Can't I've on top of that. Oh dear, quicker it was not!

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 17-Dec-15 14:01:22

I have done quite enough decs putting up for one day. Am going to seek fresh air and exercise. And the bright lights of Marks and Sparks. tchsmile

(I do know how to live don't I?!)

cornergran I'm not at all sure about my marzipan. I used Tate & Lyle 'fondant' icing sugar as their normal one has gone so gritty (!) and DH said it's not so sweet as usual. I can't make another lot. It would be so wasteful.

I have been out for lunch to a Turkish restaurant and it was delicious. The tree has been delivered and it is dropping into shape ready to be decorated tomorrow. Still got beds to make up.

Teetime Thu 17-Dec-15 14:31:57

I went to M & S after my bone scan (yes I am shorter) and bought yet more food - a pheasant and a rabbit and pheasant casserole mix. The freezer is full - still they can be eaten in January.

Now I shall make the mince pie pastry and freeze it for next week to get ahead. With a glass of sherry I think as its raining.

Secret Santa is wrapped and last of the letters finished. Now to tackle some tidying and make nibbles for belly dance class party.

whitewave Thu 17-Dec-15 15:40:32

Cake out of the oven and smells delicious so hope it is OK

Started work very early (6.30) so could finish earlier and sort out DM's last minute panics and shopping.
Now need to clean house from top to bottom
Change beds
Get washing done
Clear/clean out the fridge (I dread to think about what's in the very bottom of it tchblush )
PO in village has run out of 2nd class stamps.....
Then tomorrow get shopping list finished

DH has decided he and DD are going walking 'for a few days from Sunday' very nice too except it's my birthday on Monday and I'm working all week upto 5pm on the 24th so looks like I'll be doing the last minute shopping solo again ???

rosequartz Thu 17-Dec-15 16:09:03

Come out in a sneezy cold and can't get motivated. [grumpy]

Bellanonna Thu 17-Dec-15 16:45:06

Me too rq. Horrible isn't it! Just started the tickly cough bit and have a nearly 2 hr drive tomorrow for 3 yr old Xmas concert, starting at 10. It will be a shorter journey home before rush hour. Must make the effort. DH not up to it health wise. If I have a bad night I will just have to leave it. Hope you get better soon to tackle the jobs and get motivated.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 17-Dec-15 16:57:57

Oh no! At least you've got time to be over it for Xmas itself. Nuisance about all the jobs that need doing though. Get well soon.

I managed to fairly gracefully fall over onto the garden whilst bringing bike down our steps. Managed to sprawl in the mud with my foot stuck under bike. Had a bit of a game getting free. So glad there were no passers by. tchblush tchgrin (I seem to be undamaged though, as was shopping.

whitewave Thu 17-Dec-15 17:00:22

Honestly jing you always seem to be in a pickle with your bike. Hope you don't feel to bruised tomorrow

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 17-Dec-15 18:26:43

tchgrin

Bellanonna Thu 17-Dec-15 18:48:29

At least you had the grace to be graceful jbf

grannylyn65 Thu 17-Dec-15 19:44:10

You never cease to amaze me jbf!
Planted lily bulbs
Changed sheets
Noticed damp patch on wall
?

KatyK Thu 17-Dec-15 20:03:07

Today I got the rest of the presents. All are now wrapped. I am feeling pleased with myself and relieved tchsmile I bought a Christmas card for DH, the words on which I failed to read properly. It was one of those with two or three pages and I only read the first one. It says something about him 'making me see a blue sky where there used to be clouds and him bringing sunshine to my days' . I have to buy another one, he'll think I've taken leave of my senses! tchgrin

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 17-Dec-15 20:40:32

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 17-Dec-15 20:41:14
