We can say what we aim to get done, and then come and say if we have actually done it. tchsmile

I've had a blocked drain since Christmas Eve , the plumber's supposed to be coming today ! Please, please turn up . The washing basket's high !

Babysitting 4 grandbubs amongst it all while Mummy goes to a funeral , cooking a chicken in case they want lunch .

Then hopefully catching up with all the washing , once the drain's unblocked !

Please bring some sunshine back with you Galen, along with your pearls smile

I have been making a Mary Berry pudding for visitors who are coming tomorrow - it says preparation time '30 minutes'. hmm
After 1 hour 15 minutes I decided that Mary Berry must keep a Paul Hollywood look-alike in her kitchen who weighs out all the ingredients, hands her every utensil then puts on his Marigolds and washes up. The component parts still need putting together tomorrow and baking never again

Ahhh Galen back to reality. Hope you had a great time.

Back to back Christmas telly watching. It's a hard job, but someone has to do it. tchgrin

House now empty of family so change beds, do probably 5 loads of washing, restore my kitchen to some sort of order, sort through the fridge to chuck out anything that's past it's best, vacuum living room.
Get ironing done if can find my oomph.
Back to work tomorrow ?

One more day with grandsons here, and then they leave in the morning for their New Year holiday. I will then tidy up and make the house look as it did before the family arrival. And have a few days enjoying it myself.

Will not let Christmas go yet! tchgrin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 28-Dec-15 09:33:10

I just saw a robin with a leaf in its beak! Too early for nest building!

Alima Mon 28-Dec-15 09:28:42

This has never been a Christmas chore before but it looks like the grass could do with a mow and it certainly is bright enough today. What is happening?

Nana3 Mon 28-Dec-15 09:23:34

I reluctantly put a few things on mantelpiece on Christmas Eve, l'm quite enjoying them now.

Ana Sat 26-Dec-15 19:31:12

Shysal I know how you feel, my few will be down tomorrow I think, now all visitors have been and gone.

shysal Sat 26-Dec-15 19:18:59

Took my few decorations down this morning tchblush. Nobody had seen them although up for a while. They just irritate me after Christmas Day! Thank goodness it is over. Family coming for meal sometime, which I shall enjoy, but complicated finding them all free at the same time, so can't plan food yet.

I am going on exercise bike now to try to shift a few calories. (guilt kicking in)

Have a nice Boxing day everyone. We have earned a rest. tchsmile

Practised some magic tricks with DGD for little entertainment tomorrow .
Dashed to shops as promised her something new to wear, had fun doing that.
Visited mum in care home.
Have booked taxi that takes a wheelchair for mum tomorrow, 11am. Will still need to be at care home though and travel with her.
DH brought a Christmas tree home at 4 pm today that was so big he couldn't get it in the house!!! Why? Said we were not having one this year.
Got old fibre optic one out of loft. Looks fine.
House clean enough and looking festive now.
Some prep done by DH, bless, ham boiled ready to roast for half an hour tomorrow. Done a timetable and will get up at 7.30 am to try and get lunch on table for 1pm.
Had 2 glasses of wine as antibiotics are finished and shingles not hurting.

dustyangel Thu 24-Dec-15 16:12:15

Greyduster flowers

What was I am I going to do day.

Should never have agreed to go out to lunch with DH.
Should never have agreed to taking our own bottle of gin because the bar/ restaurant has run out. (!)
Don't Portuguese people drink gin and tonics? tchshock

But,... have been able to give our very good wishes and presents to a family
that we have know for 25 years and have been very kind to us, especially this year.

Had the sense to have the occasional cleaner in yesterday. (More presents and good wishes!)

Last minute tidying will get done sometime.
And i will put the rest of the cards up today. tchgrin

Have a Happy Christmas everyone. tchsmile

Greyduster Thu 24-Dec-15 16:02:47

Thank you Alima. That is kind. The plan seems to be working - he's been sterling this afternoon. He made sausage rolls and pigs in blankets and calmed me down when s-i-l accidentally locked my induction hob and i didn't know how to unlock it!! Couldn't find the blooming manual so had to look ont' interweb. Gosh, tegan i didn't know you could still get CherryB! I used to like that, too.

whitewave Thu 24-Dec-15 15:37:15

Still cooking the bloody Christmas Tree and then have to ice it - won't do it next year!tchhmm

Ana Thu 24-Dec-15 15:35:20

Same here, Tegan, I love it! Have been stocking up at Iceland as nowhere else seems to be selling it this year.
