Interested in what you are listening to

I have just bought a pair of SleepPhones which are brilliant. It is like a soft fleece headband that contains two soft flat headphones - you can lie down and go to sleep listening to your chosen music on the iPod.

You can buy similar earphone headbands that are for going out running - but no reason why you should not use them round the house, or anywhere else for that matter.

I listen to the radio and download BBC radio programmes to listen to on the move.

My choice varies. Local radio during most of the day time for the chat and the local interest. I listen to Smooth Radio if I want music from my era to dance around to and radio 4 podcasts if I feel like a bit of culture or education. On an evening I like classics and meditation or relaxation tracks on a night.

I am going to take a look for the Sleep Phones, they sound good

Radio 2 and Heart, or iPod in dock or on the move, just bought a new system (Ruark) that plays CDs too as DH reckons that's the best way, in fact bought 2 the other is for the kitchen it's the same without CD player.

If I'm out with earbuds in then I'm listening to Classic FM.

I only listen on youtube, we haven't got any of the other things.

I've just been listening to Herbert von Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic playing Beethoven's 7th Symphony, on a vinyl LP I bought when I was a student.
I just sat and listened to it while I was doing some crochet.

4 pm on a Sunday: The Choir on Radio 3 - perfect! I lie on the sofa and soak it up!

I download audible books on my iPad and put the headphones on if OH has the sport on TV. Usually have some relaxing knitting on the go too.

Anything, all the time. Sadly no vinyl though. In the car, it's anything from Disco to punk to classics to jazz. Jazz fm on the radio at home, plus classic fm when the signal goes (often).

My favourite listens are Steely Dan and Miles Davis. I play the piano too. I don't like listening with headphones much (not sure why).

Radio 4, Classic FM, Radio 3, CD, in that order. My preferred music is classical and I never use head phones. They distort the sound and sound was meant to reach our ears after travelling through the air.

I mostly listen to Radio 4 either at home on radio or through MP3 Player and headphones when out. Also the car radio if I'm driving. I like the afternoon plays and You and Yours for up to date stories of interest. I also enjoy Round Britain Quiz, Brain of Britain, the Digital Human, Beyond Belief, Thinking Allowed and many more. My all time favourite is The Infinite Monkey Cage with Brian Cox and Robin Ince.

Radio 2 or 5live. Meatloaf in the car and the new Elvis CD in the kitchen (this week).

BBCradio 6 to listen to new music and then whatever is my chosen music of the day/week. Listened to [when the S.O. isn't here] very loud both in the house and the car. I've never been able to listen through headphones; they make my ears feel funny . At the moment my music of choice is Imagine Dragons hich is also the favourite music of my 8 year old grandson [which me I must be regressing in some way ].

I listen to Radio 1 in the background at home and in the car, and a few Radio 4 programmes on my tiny ipod nano or phone, with ear phones. The Archers Omnibus, Gardeners' Question Time and I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue are set to record on my TV.

I used to love 'the wireless', and radio too, once it had mutated! My Sunday afternoons were made perfect by Benny Green, and his successor, Russell Davies.

Then the new brooms moved in. Russell's informative programmes 'on the art, craft and inspiration of the popular song' were chopped from two hours to an hour. Then the programme was shifted to 21:00. It was followed by an interesting hour or more of 'big' bands, each programme starting with early recordings and coming up to date, all in chronological order. The wreckers fell on this and demanded that the early material be cut out. The presenter refused and left (and died).

Russell was finally cancelled, although he still does occasional documentary programmes. All these fine programmes have been replaced by run-of-the-mill selections, presented by people who have little or nothing of interest to say about them.

The Third Programme, later Radio Three, used to be pretty fiercely intellectual, but at least there was drama, and even comedy - perhaps 'humour' might be a better description. Today it's all music, and, frankly, rather tedious.

And that, m'lud, is why I can't remember when I last turned on a radio set.

I have the radio on most of the time and swither between Radio 4, 3 and Classic FM. I also listen to it on the TV if I am in the sitting room. I like to listen to the spoken word when driving, so have Radio 4 on. As I write this I am listening to an interview with Ian Rankin on 3

I love R4extra - great dramas & classic crime & never miss Sounds of the 70s - Johnny Walker radio 2 on Sundays.

Radio 4 most of the day when I'm home until The Archers (which I gave up 5 years ago) when I turn over to Radio 3 for the rest of the evening.

I don't have anything with headphones. I listen to the radio or "Spotify" on the hudl. If the radio is on, it's always tuned to Classic FM. On Spotify, I listen to my favourite music from my youth! Sixties and seventies bands particularly.
