I used to be really superstitious about Friday 13th, but then I planned a winter holiday to India in December with a week on a 'desert island' in the middle of 3 weeks. Guess what day we travelled ...... yep, Friday 13th! We had 4 hours on a coach, 1 1/2 hours on a small plane, and another 2 hours on a boat!!. We arrived safely, and I've never worried about it since.

I am not superstitious at all but set off today to keep an appointment at 10.30am. En route a van decided not to stop at a stop sign and crashed into me at speed. My poor car came off worse in the incident so I am now carless for the foreseeable future. Maybe it is a coincidence, but next Friday 13th I think I will stay home grin

I was never superstitious till I had a fairly serious accident on a Friday 13th. The staff in A&E said there were always more accidents on that date, so I have been fearful ever since!!

It's over now and I hope everyone is well. I don't believe in any of the nonsense about bad luck on that day. It can happen at any time.

By the way I was 13 on Friday the 13th and my life has been full of bad luck, good luck, and pretty boring not very much at all! smile

I had a mammogram recently, Kl, and also commented on how painless it seemed to be. The radiologist cheered me up no end when she told me that breast tissue becomes less firm as we age, and so is easier to compress - I might change my username to Floppy.

bellasnana sad. How awful for you. Thank goodness you were not hurt and I do hope the insurance gets sorted quickly. This, on top of all you've been through. Here's to happier times ahead flowers

A good Fri 13th for your DD kitty - I hope she can move on in her life now.

Thank you lucky. She is much better, as are the children. The Idiot is behaving too, for now (not that I'm cynical or anything!) grin

I hope your news was good, too! flowers

Come on let's stop getting superstitious about Friday 13th.

Says she who was fo a long time thinking that I would be driving nearly 90miles home from a holiday, on a FRIDAY 13th.

I was worrying about the bad weather, forecasts of possible flooding in Yorkshire, and the date.

As it happened I drove though several very severe hail storms from Gargrave near Malham all the way onto the M6 at Preston then after a few miles.....!

What happened?? I drove out of the area of severe storms and into very bright sunshine and got home in one piece only a few minutes later than predicted by Tom Tom,.

I do have a sort of half baked theory that worrying about such things could in a way make people more anxious and less careful.

(Apart from events like the very foul weather which Katyk had in Scotland which was far worse than anything I encountered.)
