Handel in Edinburgh December

Eeek indeed!

I had a kind of missing ticket incident this week too.

In about February of this year I booked tickets for an event at the beginning of December then promptly forgot about it. At the weekend the subject came up in conversation and I realised I'd never received the tickets. Cue phone call to Ticketmaster and after a very long inquisition (I couldn't remember which card is used to pay) the person told me she would email them to me within two hours.
Two days later - still no email. Another call, much shorter this time thankfully, resulted in success.

Here's hoping the first two emails just disappeared into the ether and that there aren't duplicate tickets in someone's possesion.

It would have been great to have you with us, Katek. Sorry we missed you after the ROSL lunch last week. We had to hurry to catch our bus home. However, I hear you had a very good catch-up with Elegran !

Both sets of tickets, the original lot with the payment receipt, and the second lot have now arrived by post, a couple of days apart. Goodness knows where the original lot have been all this time!

I'm in a pickle! How are we meant to get home now seeing as the bridge will be closed and my DH says to take the Kincarden road will cause him no end of delay. Those who were promised a lift from home from the theatre will also be in a pickle. Any suggestions you lovely people all ideas will be greatly welcomed.

Well, I still have a sofabed for two, plus half my double and half the double that thatbags will be sleeping in that night (that is if Bags would be OK sharing) and you can go home next day, or stay another night if you want to shop. The trains will presumable be crowded, but booking a seat early would fix that. The lift home from the theatre can be taxi or a bus.

You're so kind Elegran to offer us shared accommodation. Not sure yet what Marelli and I are going to get up to. Do you know when the production finishes? think that'll help us make a decision. Looking forward to my night in the beautiful City of Edinburgh and meeting all you fabulous girls.

Elizabeth1 will be back home on Tuesday, Elegran, so we're going to get our heads together about transport. Getting there should be easy enough, and hopefully we'll be able to catch an evening train back ok, too.

I hope the trains to Fife are better than they were in 1960, when my latest train home from Edinburgh to Dunfermline was at 10.10.

It left from the other side of the platform to the 10.10 to Glasgow - which I found myself on one evening after a frenzied dash to Waverley. It didn't stop until Polmont, and then there were no more trains going back eastward that night.

Someone of enterprise starting a water taxi business just now would be in clover.. or is there already one? or more?

There would be a need for an improved ferry slip at Rosyth, I think, BiN. There was mention of this on the news the other night, where a spokesman for the company who run the wee boat Maid of the Forth said that they could provide the service really easily if adequate slips were in place. Buses at either side would whip folk away to their destinations in a trice! My friend and I 'nipped' across to Edinburgh the other day to see the ballet at the Festival Theatre. It was a five hour round trip on 4 buses. Tour buses are also being used as shuttles. Worth it, though!

On Wednesday we left home at 4.30am for the Airport usually a 45min journey at that early hour but it took us 2.5hrs....

Rigatoni is 5.15, Marelli. I shall go straight there so will not be joining you spending money beforehand.

I think Elizabeth1 and I may partake of a little Christmas cheer before heading up to Rigatoni's ! Just a wee lemonade....

Since there's a fair chance that DD's baby could arrive over the weekend would you all have a think about whether you could rope in a last minute substitute if necessary?

I'd hate the ticket to go to waste if I can't make it (but I am secretly hoping that she holds on till Monday) .

Not excited yet Marelli, it doesn't seem quite real at the moment. Although I'm sure it does for her!

I'm meeting DD for lunch and will probably walk to Rigatoni's when we've finished blethering.

baubles so very pleased for you and your family. Would be good to see you on Sunday if it's at all possible. Elegran any money I may have is swiftly trickling through my fingers as my DH and I have already been shopping in Dundee where we had not a bad time considering he's not so keen on Christmas shopping. A wee raised glass is about the limit from here on in. I just so love Edinburgh and it's festivities.

Sorry folks but I'm not going to make it on Sunday although not for baby related reasons.

I've been unwell all week and doubt that I'll be fully recovered by Sunday. I'm so disappointed as I'm sure it'll be a fabulous performance but I'd be very unpopular if my coughing ruined it for others in the audience.

I do hope one of you can think of someone who'd like to go in my place.
