I'm a spring/ summer person. Autumn is spoiled for me by the clocks changing + winter on the horizon. Every year I say I'm going to embrace the winter but instead I just want to hibernate. I've already started on the St Johns Wort + Vitamin D.

I love all 4, in a very different way- here in the mountains I love our very bright, sunny, snowy and very cold winters- didn't like winter when I lived in UK.

There is one month of the year I'd like to opt out of - November! It's just miserable- and planning to escape to the sun for part of it this time.

Definitely a winter person....love snow and Christmas. We're all born in the winter as well, when the children were at home we had birthday cards on display continuously from November to end January!

Its Summer for me lots of family birthdays in July/August I just love casting off all the Winter woollies and boots for shorts and flip flops. I'm just so much happier in the warm weather.

Summer, but not too hot.Worse is rain, hate it with a vengeance,I would rather it be cold,at least you can put extra layers on.

granjura Tue 22-Sept-15 21:26:25

oh dear, you live in the wrong country then for rain...

Ana Tue 22-Sept-15 21:33:15

I'll have to be awkward and say late Spring/early Summer. I don't like it too hot either, Markark.

What I dislike most is cold, buffeting wind, especially combined with rain!

merlotgran Tue 22-Sept-15 21:45:42

Summer for me. I love the long days and don't mind getting up really early when it's hot so I can get plenty done then take it easy in the middle of the day.

I don't mind rain so long as it's not windy and I hate fog because I worry about family members who are driving.

Indinana Tue 22-Sept-15 21:50:53

I don't like it too hot these days. My favourite time of year has to be Spring, when the clocks have gone forward. Light till 7.30 and all the summer to look forward to. I always feel filled with promise - though often the promise isn't realised sad.
I hate Winter, hate the build up to C*******s, all the stress and wondering what to buy everyone. So probably one of my favourite days of the year is 27th December grin

Teetime Tue 22-Sept-15 21:51:14

Summer!

Envious Tue 22-Sept-15 21:54:44

Fall the colorful trees and cool breezes please me.

Lona Tue 22-Sept-15 22:02:33

I like all of it except winter,November to March. It's cold, gloomy and I don't like C*******s! I enjoy wearing winter clothes though.

Matella Tue 22-Sept-15 22:08:57

Grateful for every day of course but love October. Can get crispy mornings and sunny days. I feel a sense of anticipation. Cosy evenings, evening classes, winter recipes to try.
Love it all.

Autumn and, secondly, winter. I love waking up to a nip in the air and the hum of the central heating. I loe the contrast between the cold outdoors and the warm indoors and more than anything the changing colours of the trees and slanting autumn sun through the trees in all their autumn glory

Ode to Autumn, John Keats

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

Admittedly not much summer this year, but everything is wonderfully autumnal.

I find Spring very disappointing. Having waited all Winter for a warm sunny day, you get one, think 'here we go' and then it rains for the next fortnight. Autumn is the other way round - you expect the days to be cooler, wet and windy but usually get loads of sunny, warm days with a light breeze. Feels like a bonus, out in the sunshine, harvesting the fruits (and veggies) of all the hard work in the spring and summer.

Summer, summer and summer. Light nights, schools closed, early morning sun waking me up. Fish jumping and the cotton is high.

Marmark1 Wed 23-Sept-15 08:11:03

December and January ,are the worst months for me.Sorry but I hate Christmas. Its all about how much money can be made now.

Mamie Wed 23-Sept-15 08:28:37

Spring and early summer. May is the most perfect month here in Normandy, with great swathes of apple blossom as far as the eye can see.
I like autumn too and November has our birthdays to cheer it up. I have always hated January and February, but now we go to southern Spain and we see our son, DiL and grandchildren, so that is great (though the long drive down and back is hard work).
I start on the Cod Liver Oil tablets and the SAD lamp once the autumn comes.

Gagagran Wed 23-Sept-15 08:37:51

It's the dark days I dislike when it never really feels to get light. Once the New Year turns the light starts to come back and there is the promise of Spring in the air. I love Spring with all the new life, fresh green coming on the trees. lambs in the field, bulbs blooming everywhere and summer to follow on.

I would like to do what hedgehogs do - hibernate in Autumn and wake up in Spring having lost half my body weight (I could stand to do that!) and rampant for sex. Dream on!

kittylester Wed 23-Sept-15 08:47:17

I love the fact that we have seasons and welcome each one in turn. I might complain but I love our changeable weather and when the rain is pelting down I make a point of sitting on our 'glass'corridor in the midst of it but dry andwarm!

Anniebach Wed 23-Sept-15 09:29:27

Spring. Summer and Autumn ahead , hate winter, have a snow phobia , terrified of it

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 23-Sept-15 09:36:27

Gagagran I see Mrs Tiddywinkle in a completely new light now.

Greyduster Wed 23-Sept-15 09:36:34

Early Summer, when the Mayfly hatches send the trout into an absolute frenzy and even I can catch them! And late Summer when the heather moors are at their glorious purple best.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 23-Sept-15 09:40:22

I do like 'high' Summer, which I consider to be June. The flowers are usually at their very best. But perhaps all the seasons have something to offer, even Winter with warm fires and cosy duvets.

I wish I could throw off the 'down' part of me that often stops me enjoying what I know is there.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 23-Sept-15 09:41:18

and it's 'Tiggywinkles' isn't it hmm
