Day One of my personal challenge, no alcohol for September - anyone care to join me ...?
The very lowest, Anya. I'm so sorry
A big wooden train that my son and DiL painted and personalised with his name. The plant which was in it, ripped out and thrown on the grave.
Scum.
Thanks Ana

Yes. There are some people with no sense of decency out there. I hope you can get some sleep...
I am so sorry to hear that Anya
That's horrible Anya - I feel both angry and sad on your behalf. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you and yours
xx
Oh no, Anya, I am so sorry. Low life scum is right.
Anya That is so distressing. Scum indeed.
Hi Anya - just checking in to say I hope you feel a bit better today, sending a hug to go with your morning
as I can't find a sugar free
xx
DH and I have spent an hour searching to see if it had been discarded anywhere in the vicinity of the cemetery, but no luck. I cannot express my disgust at the level some people will sink to.
I hope karma catches up with them.
Thanks for all your kind messages
it's my DS and DDiL who I feel for most
they don't need this.
No, they don't, and neither do you. It's so upsetting, and I just hate to think that people can be so horrible and unfeeling. Do they not have families of their own or other people they love?
I've been thinking about you and your family today Anya - sending good wishes
On the step front - I've been pathetic
My day has been like this - walked from house to car; walked from to motorway services for a wee; back to car; walked from car deck on ferry to lounge; walked back from lounge to car; walked from car into hotel; walked from hotel lobby to allotted room; walked from room to bar; walked from bar to restaurant; walked from restaurant to room; undressed and got into bed ...
Tomorrow will be no better - I will walk from hotel to car and then drive around 500 miles to holiday destination - might be one or two toilet stops. I'm guessing my step count will be pathetic again!!
Good luck to the rest of you - I will be back on here over the weekend
Night night
Well when there's nothing to be done, you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get on with life. Holding onto the bad only backfires and makes you bitter and twisted.
I know not many people visit this thread and those few that do I feel safe with. So thanks for all the support
I've done my steps, abstained from the demon drink and snacked on nuts.
I hope you have a lovely holiday JG and we expect posts in lieu of postcards so we can enjoy it vicariously.
Anya, any news? Do let us know if the train turns up, won't you, or if the scumbags perpetrators are caught?
And I hope you have a lovely relaxing holiday, JG, once you get the long journey out of the way.
I've had a good day today, walk wise, high stepping it into town to buy the wherewithall for our family party here tomorrow - a late celebration of DD1's birthday. We used to go out to a restaurant for our birthdays, but have now resigned ourselves to a bit of a do at ours each time so that the DGSs can run riot join in the fun and everyone else can get to eat instead of chasing after them! Yesterday I only just reached the 5k, by virtue of a brisk walk to buy the ingredients for her cake. I was planning an elaborate pink princess cake round one of her old Barbies (she's a real diva!), but time ran away from me and it is a bog-standard chocolate cake.
Calorific, though, so I'd better not stand still for too long tomorrow.
You're not going to believe this - but it's true! - I lost my second pedometer yesterday.
I was really miffed because I'd done lots of walking, even parking further away from the dentist's than I needed to and having several trips round the garden when I got back...Only noticed it was gone when I went to the loo!
So I've bought yet another one today, an Omron which I had a hell of a job setting up until I took the battery out and put it in again. At least the clip seems more secure, but I think I'll put it in a pocket when I go out.
Hope you're feeling a bit better, Anya, I'm afraid some of those scroats steal well-made and beautiful things just to sell, so I wouldn't hold out much hope of finding the train abandoned anywhere...
Hey ladies(?) girls (?) guys(?) ... grans .....?
I'm finally here and the house is just the same as it was in April - a lot more weeds and dust etc.... but it's good to be here... I am lucky to have wonderful people to help with mum whilst I am away and I will hopefully go back rested and ready to take the reins again....
Anya - you have done amazingly well, steps, abstinence and healthy snacks! Those dreadful people will get there come-uppance I am sure - they cannot sleep easy after what they have done. But you ... you have the right attitude xxxxxx
Maggie I LOVE chocolate cake - so it there's any left, send it over here ... Hope you all have a lovely day
Ana - just get a Fitbit - it fits around your wrist - you cannot lost it.....
'lose'
Mine has a long looped string which I loop around a belt loop then stick it in my pockets. Hope it's 3rd time lucky Ana very annoying when you've done all those steos too.!! . Lots of looping in there.
Wonder how far into her holiday journey JG ?
I've stuck to my targets
GD1 is 6 on Monday so we're having her party on Sunday. I've both girls here tonight as I have every other Friday to give DS and DDiL a break. I'll do my steps but will not forgo a
or
on this special day. Seems to be birthday season Maggie'and chocolate cake sounds good to me. Can you perhaps save us a virtual slice to make up for the strawberry creams?
I doubt we'll ever get the train back
but I'll talk to DS tomorrow and see where he's up to. Nothing's ever been taken before so hope this isn't the start of something nasty. At Christmas all the graves are decorated (yes, I know some people disapprove though I doubt anyone every visits this little corner of the cemetery except those with a reason) and they look lovely.
X posts JG

Anya - your 'little corner' sounds delightful and I hope those horrid people who recently visited never set foot in there again!! Well done on sticking to your targets, still sugar free as well ...
Do enjoy your grand-girlies,I'm already missing mine ....
I have to say I am back to some very bad habits
a little afternoon tipple here in France - the local wine is very good
but I'm still waiting for my chocolate cake Maggie ...
So... sadly no steps done here today but lots of lovely relaxing
Ana - trust your clip is still working ...? and you will shame me with your number of steps completed ...
À bièntôt
Good to hear from you jogginggirl, your holiday sounds wonderful so far!
Never mind the clip, couldn't get the darn thing to re-set this morning but wonders will never cease, I found my original Omron (the one I thought had fallen out of my bra!) in my dressing gown pocket today! Really pleased as it's got the long loop and I'm definitely keeping it either securely attached to belt or securely attached by safety pin from now on...
Not up to shaming standard yet, had my very own girlies here today and was pretty much forced to sit down and watch them perform a gymnasics display and then help them finish their school project, but tomorrow is another day...
Hi, gang. Hope you've all had a lovely day, as I have (thank you for your good wishes!).
The party went very well, the DGS were on great form and amused us mightily. DGS2 had a nap in my newly acquired junior bed - it was his first time in a big boy's bed and he was so excited and proud. [fond, doting nana
).
Many calories have been consumed and DD1, who is staying over, has just opened another bottle of prosecco....it would be rude, would it not, to refuse to help her drink it?
I have saved you lots of gooey chocolate cake - here it is. [cake] [cake] [cake] [cake] [cake] As you can see, it has pink icing!
I should have lost my pedometer today, Ana. It tells me I have only taken 698 steps.
There is surely some mistake?
Oh blimey, the prosecco's kicking in!
