Got the steps in and kept off the plonk
What made you fall in love with comedy?
What was directly across the road from the school you went to?
Your next holiday must be to where the first holiday you remember , where are you going?g
Day One of my personal challenge, no alcohol for September - anyone care to join me ...?
Got the steps in and kept off the plonk

Please don't hold back on telling how many steps you've done, Anya, I have managed fewer than 3,000 today but at least I'm finding out which activities I think are good exercise and those which actually are (or aren't, IYSWIM!)
It's been quite an eye-opener and I'm working on a strategy...
Ana I'm quite content if I've achieved what I set out to do. But I'm intrigued about your strategy???
What does IYSWIM mean
Oh, sorry, it stands for 'if you see what I mean'.
I'll let you know my strategy after I've worked a bit more on it...

I got my steps in - just! - by bribing persuading DGS2 to let me take him to Toddler Group and back in his buggy, instead of walking to the park at the end of his road. It still took forever - we had to stop for 10 minutes just to watch the school lollipop man stopping the traffic - but at least my feet were moving most of the time. Then on the way home I got DH to throw me out of the car a mile down the road to make up the difference. I've barely moved since I got in. Even now I'm crossing my legs instead of getting myself upstairs to the loo.
Good luck for tomorrow, everyone!
Under 5,000 steps today - dentist gave me a very sore mouth. No alcohol again
Long day coming up tomorrow - beginning with hospital appointment with my mum, then her shopping followed by a G.P. appointment to talk about support for her and 'where we go from here' ... Feeling anxious
Not much chance of many steps but hope to catch up on Friday and weekend....
Well done ladies ... and good luck tomorrow
Ouch, jogginggirl
Hope you're feeling better soon, and that tomorrow goes well.
Thank you Maggiemaybe and for the

Love the image of you x-legged on the sofa Maggie
Let us know how it goes today with your mum JG
Better get going myself as it's a full on school run again today.
As predicted a long old day but with lots of positives
Mum was discharged from Dermatology Clinic - on to the Hearing Clinic where she had her batteries and tubes changed and heard every thing I was saying about to her
Visit to GP was positive also - with lots of suggestions on how to handle the Dementia diagnosis. Mum has a great sense of humour and is not afraid to laugh at herself which really helps
Achieved step objective surprisingly - hope to get out for a run tomorrow...
I'm treating myself to one small g&t tonight - I've really enjoyed it but it's enough.
Hope all good with everyone else
Night night
Good news about your mum, and well done jogginggirl!
Have yet to check my pedometer (still ensconsed in bra!) but am a bit more optimistic as picked up the girls from school and even though we obviously had to use the car to get home, we did have a trip to the park near to their school via the sweet shop and had a bit of a runabout...
[knackered emoticon]
I will certainly cheer you all on, with your millions of steps and dry nights,
GO GIRLS!
I did a few steps myself today, not the best time to do a big walk as I have a really sore throat, but we fancied some fresh air, and as we have annual passes to a stately home and massive grounds, we went there this morning and walked much further than we usually do.We were so tired and hungry afterwards that we had to call into a nearby garden centre for baguettes and salad, so undid all the good work on the calorie front. Still, felt better for the walking, and should do a bit more.No alchohol today , wouldn't help the sore throat, just hot Ribena.
Yes, seems like things went better that expected with your mum JG and it will help if your mum is good for a laugh.
G&T, brings back memories of summer evenings, after work, sitting in the garden with friends
Managed my step target and settled for a diet ginger beer with dinner, again. Then I pushed the boat out and ......opened a second can (of ginger beer). This woman really knows how to live
No school run tomorrow, for a change, so will have to push myself to do steps. Can't even take the dog for a walk as vet says he must rest until next appointment - which I've just remembered is 9.20 tomorrow.
Hope you've managed to unearth your pedometer by now Ana and are pleased with your total?
I took your advice from a recent post Anya and I am just taking Mum as she is - no expectation just enjoying what we have here and now
Well done on the steps and the ginger beer
- alas those summer evenings seem a distant memory now
although hoping for some sunshine for our forthcoming trip to France - fingers crossed that I manage it
I thought I would go for a run in the morning then remembered that I have my friend/personal trainer scheduled for a 9.a.m. session. Time to put this computer to bed and follow suit
I'm so pleased things went well for your mum, JG.
Well done everyone on the steps and alcohol restriction (I'm not joining you on that one, and shared a lovely bottle of red with DH last night
).
I struggled on the steps yesterday. It was my library book club, but that's only half a mile away, so I added a brisk circular walk just before Pointless tea to make up my steps. I clocked 5013 in the end, phew!
Today will be better. I had a GP appointment first thing and decided to walk both ways, and I'm off up to see my friend (a mile away), so the step count won't be a problem. The nice weather helps.
The downside is that all this walking is making me hungry and I keep snacking. And who knows how many calories will be lurking in the curry my friend is making me for lunch!
CURRY FOR LUNCH
Respect!!!!
It's even better for breakfast'
I once had it served to me for breakfast on a flight to Kuala Lumpur on a Cathy Pacific aircraft Galen
I had it on one to Egypt

I'm sitting in a Playbarn watching the 6-year-old-Diva run around like a nutcase. Not much 'stepping' going on here today
I was once offered curry for breakfast in Jaipur - that's never right
I am sometimes offered curry for breakfast in my own kitchen - saved from last night's takeaway (cairryoot for our Scots chums) and served cold - a treat!
Blimey, what did I start this morning?!
The curry lunch was excellent, but I agree that curry's good for breakfast - it tastes even better the morning after! In Sri Lanka the dhal was so good I ate it every morning for a fortnight.
Indeed Maggiemaybe - but sorry - I could never do curry for breakfast! Thank you for your kind comments- my mum is ace
I just about exceeded the step goal today - although I have to confess that it was with the help of my diva GD - she was fascinated by the Fitbit and wanted to try it - she added 250 steps in no time flat...lol
Tomorrow it will be all my own work
