Just caught the end of it. Lovely to see four generations.
H.M. looked very happy and chatty.

HildaW Sat 13-Jun-15 13:20:38

Yes, was lovely to see George in short socks and ruffled hair waving and looking for the Red Arrows to come back.

shysal Sat 13-Jun-15 13:56:56

How did you do that with the smiley Soutra?

merlotgran Sat 13-Jun-15 13:59:36

We watched it as well. He's already an expert at pleasing the crowds.

Maybe they read our comments on the long socks after the last photo.

lovely pics

Soutra Sat 13-Jun-15 14:38:03

Aha!! I think it was Ana who told us, using the old desktop site, square brackets, and tcrcrown. There are other s but I can't remember them tcrsad

Nice to see Camilla wearing some colour. She always seems to be in beiges and creams.

merlotgran Sat 13-Jun-15 15:46:32

I agree, nina. I think Camilla looks better as she gets older. She's lost quite a bit of weight and her hair is less coiffed.

rosesarered Sat 13-Jun-15 16:32:40

I only watch this for the horses, they are so magnificent.

Iam64 Sat 13-Jun-15 18:42:44

Yes roses, the horses are spectacular. I confess though, to loving the photographs of little George and feel I'm slowly losing any republican sympathies grin

Teetime Sat 13-Jun-15 19:34:56

Prince George was lovely. I do admire Mrs Cambridge though she is certainly getting all right.

grannyactivist Sat 13-Jun-15 19:38:56

One of my good friends was there today - a great British spectacle and something we do rather well I think. tcrsmile

Deedaa Sat 13-Jun-15 22:06:20

I agree nina I said to DH that Camilla looked so much better in a bit of colour, the creams and beiges she usually wears make her look so washed out. (You can imagine how fascinating he found the conversation grin )

Horses were lovely as ever and how good to see all those girls in the King's Troop! It struck me that if you were to pick a 94 year old man off the street, tie a heavy weight to his head and make him sit with it for hours you'd probably be arrested.

I thought Kate was perhaps a bit too thin already? I'd like to see a bit of "Sod this I've just had a baby I'll slim down eventually"

numberplease Sat 13-Jun-15 22:51:14

Prince George is the image of William at the same age.

rosesarered Sun 14-Jun-15 08:43:04

Agree Deedaa and number good points.I also caught Camilla whispering and laughing to Kate, but Kate remained unsmiling back to her, so perhaps Kate thought the occasion was not one to be grinned at and will make a good Queen consort.Probably Camilla was saying " this is taking forever, I'm dying for a fag!" grin

kittylester Sun 14-Jun-15 08:46:36

DGS1 is really into knights and soldiers at the moment and was really disappointed that they didn't start fighting. shock

Anniebach Sun 14-Jun-15 09:26:03

As the tv camera was focused on the child the whole time they were on the balcony he stole the camera not the show, there was no choice for the viewer

Soutra Sun 14-Jun-15 09:52:59

Oh don't be such a misery! The TV cameraman wasn't to know that when HM turned to go inside, George would look back at the crowds and give a final little wave! tcrsmile and [wave] emoticon

Anniebach Sun 14-Jun-15 10:16:53

Not being a misery just saying as it was, yes a sweet child ,who else was in the balcony crowd? We only saw Camilla because she was in camera shot close to George . We were spared Andrews daughters so that's a positive grin

merlotgran Sun 14-Jun-15 10:29:25

I would have liked the camera to sweep along the balcony to the children at the other end. Other than Prince Edward's son and daughter it would have been interesting to have a go at identifying some of the others.

I disagree, Roses. It's not a sombre occasion and there was a lot of smiling and grinning all round. Camilla is senior to Kate so unless the Queen gives her a death stare I suppose she can laugh all she wants. She will also make a good Queen consort as her support for Charles is unwavering.

The Queen looked lovely but all eyes were on George...including mine grin

pinkprincess Sun 14-Jun-15 19:30:14

I thought Prince Edward's son who was at he front beside the Queen was a really lovely little boy.
I did not care for Catherine's dress though. It looked like it was made from curtain material. But who am I too judge, just my immediate thought.I agree about her weight, looks like she has gone down too quickly. That's just jealous me though,I was still looking like a sack of potatoes at that stage.

Iam64 Sun 14-Jun-15 19:38:49

I feel for Katherine - criticised for being to thin during her pregnancy, then produces a whopper of a baby, only to be criticised for losing baby weight too quickly. I was skinny at her age - I'm not now!

merlotgran Sun 14-Jun-15 19:59:30

Some more pics

J52 Sun 14-Jun-15 20:21:55

I thought Camilla resembled the Q Mum's style, particularly the hat! x
