Lime marmalade is nice.
Peanut butter is OK from time to time, I sometimes get an urge to eat it
(strange but true)

Only use thick cut bread for toast. Medium cut goes too dry.
Butter half melted with marmite, and sometimes a mashed banana on top of the marmite... yum.

Yes also to peanut butter, on top of the ordinary butter.
Has to be real butter, never 'spread'.

Yes also to lime marmalade.

I much prefer toast done under the grill, white warburton's toastie bread is best for taste, but I do accept that brown bread is better for me.
I love toast and lurpak, sometimes with marmalade, black current jam or pea nut butter. Cheese on toast is a real treat.

To get back to the OP - I am not going to take up the challenge.

I always jump when the toaster pops and when the phone or doorbell rings. All are regular everyday occurrences, don't know how I'd react to a real scare....

I lost two slices of toast a couple of weeks ago-turned my back on the toaster to finish making tea, heard it pop and when I turned round........nothing. The toast had completely disappeared-took me a few minutes to find it lurking behind the toaster which sits diagonally across the corner It had taken careful aim and fired my breakfast down the back. Never done it before or since.

I prefer to do my toast under the grill - so much easier to set several slices alight at once. And the best toast is served hot, with huge amounts of butter on. Oo, I'm feeling peckish now, and I only had my tea an hour ago.

Oh and it has to be dark, thick, chunky marmalade. Coopers Oxford is delicious.

All this talk of toast we had to have some, with of course, Wilkins Tiptree Marmalade, what else.

Ana I love the 'bare toast' I must use that in future. As in " I would like some bare toast with a slinky black covering of Marmite".

I love Marmite on toast but have to have butter too. If I have marmalade I don't have butter. Crunchy peanut butter is a favourite but why would you use butter too ? The clue is in the name

My dad used to make peanut butter and lettuce sandwiches.

I don't stand over the toaster. My cats don't stand over the toaster. None of us is traumatised by toasted bread. Easy! The toasted sandwich grill thingy is another matter, however, and I really hate it.

Toast and butter and Marmite and/or other yeast extracts. It just has to be butter with Marmite for me as well.

I just had to have toast for breakfast this morning (it's usually yogurt and fruit in the week).

Well I tried it again at teatime yesterday. Concentrated really hard - "it's gonna pop up, it's gonna pop up - any second now..."

Still nearly hit the ceiling when it did.

I think it might be impossible. (well for me anyway)

I have a really good toaster, but find myself rather missing the excitement of never knowing where my toast would end up, with the last one. We would all stand with hands ready, never knowing in which direction it would take off. It added a little excitement to our mornings, but DBH is a grump in the mornings and couldn't cope with it.
