Let this be a warning?

In the programme last night it wasn't just a one off in one street. It was various houses in streets in the same area. Some residents have been putting up with this for years.

One builder who was working on one house, then pointed out to another four consecutive houses, in the same street, already booked to have the same basement construction done, so, it could take years to complete all of them.

When Emily Thornberry posted a tweet about England flags draped on a less salubrious house outside which was parked a white van, people went into overdrive with outrage. These stripes are the 'posh' but tacky equivalent. I find that amusing. I can understand people's worries about basement digging, but making a fuss about some painted stripes is just silly and, therefore, to me, amusing. It's what people get outraged about that's amusing: stuff that doesn't really matter!

PS If you think coloured paint is a Big Deal, don't go to Tobermory.

PPS My house is red and white, though not in stripes. People like it.

And easily remedied, if necessary.
