Yes me! I am 65 today, in the middle of having kitchen floor tiled and looking after DGS 1 and 2 so no party for me......or special treat. Am feeling life is passing too fast! Where have the years gone?

Happy birthday to both of you, marmight and harrigran (I've wished marmight a happy birthday about 3 times now, come to think of it - meet up, social media etc, etc)!

Today is the centenary of my Mum's birth and I am remembering her fondly and, it has to be said, with a few tears.

Born in 1915 saw so much happen in her lifetime. She was mesmerised by automatic washing machines, given she used to wash everything by hand and rinse it then put it through a mangle. We had a tough time persuading her that she ought to have one! She thought holes in the wall that dished out cash were very strange things.

Isn't it silly. I am in my 60s but I miss my Mum so much. She was an 'old' Mum - she had her first child at 39, me when she was 40, and my younger sister when she was 43, so I spent much of my life being her companion - she was 65 when I was 25 - and then as she grew frail, her carer. She had an indomitable nature though, 'never say die' was her byword and she overcame some dreadful hardship. She was very independent, but she was also the kindest, sweetest lady I've ever known. I was always surprised she had such a sunny nature, given what life threw at her.

She died in 2001 but I still miss her smile, her laugh, her encouragement and wisdom, and her presence in my life.

Happy Birthday to everyone who has a birthday today! Have a lovely day! My first Grandson is 9 today. Where do all the years go? It doesn't feel like nine years to me! It was my late Fathers birthday today too. Happy Birthday Daddy.

Day6 I feel for you at the loss of your Mum.

I miss my great parents everyday of my life. However we are the lucky ones, many others did not get on with their mother/father and don't have the happy memories we have.

It is my birthday today too. I have had a lovely time buying roses in Norfolk for my new front garden after several years of building work. I arrived home to find presents on my front door step including a lovely bouquet from my DD.

Many happy returns to all yesterday's Taureans! Today is my turn. I'm off to my Aerobics class and then a seafood lunch with DH at Cafe on the Exe (floating pontoon in the middle of the estuary!). Shan't see either of my DS or DGC sadly as they live too far away from us, but hope for a phone call later.

Love the 'May blossom' name Rascal! Happy birthday to today's May Blossoms! And thanks for all the good wishes from GRansnetters. DGS2 made me a party with little jam sandwiches and lots of candles on a cake, including the number 43 As he couldn't find a 6 and a 5 in my cupboard he thought I might like to be that age. Bless! Only 5 and knows how to treat a woman!

What a busy month May is!

Happy Birthday to all Gransnetters born today - Taureans like my son, grandson and best friend - it's a good sign.

Thank you everyone who has wished me a happy birthday, very much appreciated. I'm going to have a special birthday dinner this evening with my dear friend. She's bought venison steak and she made a big trifle and a big gluten free almond birthday cake last night ready for today! Hope I don't fall asleep after all that!
