This poor little kitten PM appeared in my inbox late last night and I wondered if it belongs to anybody here? Because it definitely wasn't meant to come to me. Anybody recognise her it? There is a tag on its collar which says "not a problem" but no name sad

"Thanks for your PM. I couldn't care less, she's always been a boot licker as you said.
Yes. I am in Birmingham the last week of February so we can all meet up there for lunch again if that suits? I'll email you with the attachment tomorrow

X"

I have to say I have chortled heartily at the content and the thought of the blush of the sender, wondering just who (s)he could be meaning!gringrin

Any takers? You know who you are!!

Totally unfair to blame Soutra for this surely. Must say I would have been really upset at getting such a message by 'mistake'. With hindsight we can all wonder whether posting on the open Forum was a good idea- but I am sure Soutra didn't mean to stir trouble. Had the person who made this gaffe got back to Soutra with an ooops and an apology- it would have indeed been much better, surely- and this thread would have never happened.

And for all to now wonder who the presumed 'bootlicker' was- is not pleasant either. A pity- but onwards and forwards.

Why would you have been really upset granjura?

Soutra wasn't. She sounded amused or even gleeful.

Nelliemoser Mon 09-Feb-15 10:59:34

Pogs forgive me but the more this muddle is commented on and stirred up, the more controversy it is raising. It appears that those persons most involved might now wish to let go of this issue completely.

So maybe it is time to STOP as the OP has already requested.

Morning all,

It would be great if members who receive messages (PM or otherwise) that are concerning could report them to us at HQ rather than posting openly about them. We're about to delete a couple of identifying posts on the thread, as the message something that was meant as a private communication.

tanith Mon 09-Feb-15 11:20:22

Can't the squabbling on this thread just stop now please, there are more important things going on as new thread I just read demonstrates.

POGS Mon 09-Feb-15 11:36:02

Nelliemoser

Well that's your opinion.

For information my post post was not withdrawn at posters request. I did not initiate contact with GNHQ . I thought GNHQ were going to blank out the name mentioined and leave the rest of the post in it's entirety.

Now it looks as though I regretted my post or it was being abusive in some way. Nether are in fact true. [not on!]

POGS Mon 09-Feb-15 11:42:49

And don't think I am keeping this thread going , it was the case I looked at my e.mails before GN so that's how easy posting get's confusing when time lines cross over . I thought I was being asked re my post but it . had already been dealt with before I replied. confused

Soutra thank you for your PM last night. The meeting I refered to was with ex-work colleagues who are attending a conference in Birmingham the last week in February and wondered if I was around. It is not other GNetters meeting up and excluding you as I would have explained had to contacted me earlier. I'm sorry you thought that. I'm sorry too that a late night PM to another was inadvertently was sent to you. As you said sh*t happens.

Nelliemoser Mon 09-Feb-15 12:21:36

Pogs The OP I referred to was Soutra's original not the one of yours of 11:36. I did not even see that one before you requested deletion.

Soutra requested an end to this debacle in her post of Feb-15 10:20:10.

I cannot for the life of me see why some posters just cannot let things go and walk calmly away from an insoluble disagreement without having to keep cranking up the tensions. Walking away from a heated discussion in situations like this is a positive resolution not an admission of defeat.

POGS Mon 09-Feb-15 12:29:39

As you are doing now!

I just took an aversion to a GN being named by another poster.

petallus Mon 09-Feb-15 12:43:19

Yes, slipped the name in before asking that a line be drawn under this thread!

That's how it seemed anyway.

I agree best to let it drop now though.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 09-Feb-15 12:46:19

grin it was anya griping about an ex work colleague! We'll let her off that. Lol!

God anya! I hope you haven't been cringing too long! grin

Stansgran Mon 09-Feb-15 17:00:19

But forever bootlickergate will spring into mind whenever I pass through Brum. Thank you merlotgrin

loopylou Mon 09-Feb-15 17:28:49

I'm off..........feeling uncomfortable about this thread sad

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 09-Feb-15 18:00:50

I thought it finished long ago. Why come back to say "I'm off"? confused grin
