jingl I imagine that 'forward' in the context that Soutra used it, means that person A receives an email from person B, which they want to share with person C.
That's when you click on 'forward', with C's email address in the box. I'm sure you knew that really.
It's quite possible, especially late at night, when you might have had a few
, to click on 'reply' instead of 'forward', so that said email, instead of going onto C, with, as Soutra says, a sharp comment, goes back to B instead. You might not have wanted B to see the sharp comment that was intended for C's eyes only.
The other thing to watch out for is the 'reply to all' option, when an email has been sent to a group of people.
