Do you ever get out of bed in the morning...

...determined to get a whole list of things done, and then realise as it starts to get dark that you've hardly done any of them? And that you are now on the fourth day of being so determined. sad

I need the proverbial rocket. hmm

You just need some longer days - as soon as the sun goes in we just want to hunker down and keep warm.

GillT57 Fri 16-Jan-15 15:56:32

jings it is called being on Gransnet..........

Maggiemaybe Fri 16-Jan-15 15:58:30

jings, do what I do. Have a think about what you have done during the day, add these things to the list, and tick them off. Makes you feel loads better. grin

vampirequeen Fri 16-Jan-15 16:00:31

I do that all the time.

loopylou Fri 16-Jan-15 16:14:10

Hate the winter, I slow down so much (I reckon to about quarter speed!) and everything takes longer.
Today's good intentions went belly-up by 9.00, so by 2pm I bought and scoffed a jam doughnut as a consolation.
Will have to pull finger out over weekend as spending next week on a course, where I will have to look organised and upto speed (help!) hmm

I agree with GillT57. Gransnet can eat up more time than anything. I start with 'just' going on the Good Morning thread and then think I wll 'just' catch up on another topic and so on. I will have to be more disciplined.

Anne58 Fri 16-Jan-15 16:16:13

I'm only here while I wait for the kitchen floor to dry, honest!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Jan-15 16:17:25

The fact that you bought a jam doughnut (envy) means you actually went out! Respect! (To loopy)

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Jan-15 16:18:45

At least you've washed yours phoenix!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Jan-15 16:19:57

It's like hiding away from what you should be doing - coming on GN.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Jan-15 16:20:27

It gets you nowhere!!! shock

loopylou Fri 16-Jan-15 16:20:53

No choice about going out*jingl*, car needed new headlight bulb (as I discovered in the dark driving home from University last night), parents shopping to do etc- can blame them for doughnut as was in bakery for them smile!

Anne58 Fri 16-Jan-15 16:29:00

I succumbed to chocolate cheesecake whilst in Waitrose earlier. Trouble is, it only comes in 2 slice packs blush

vampirequeen Fri 16-Jan-15 16:32:45

Then by law you have to eat the other one grin

loopylou Fri 16-Jan-15 16:37:12

Shame to let the second one 'go off'! grin

Kiora Fri 16-Jan-15 16:47:58

Impressed jings only your fourth day. I'm on my fourth year. One day one day I will accomplish all I set out to do

Tegan Fri 16-Jan-15 17:10:05

I was thinking that the other day. Because I now wake up when I wake up [late blush]and before I know it it's dark and I stop doing things that need doing. The things that do need doing here would probably take a couple of hours but I just keep looking at them and doing something else [cup of tea; computer etc].

numberplease Fri 16-Jan-15 17:18:18

For the last 2 weeks I`ve been cleaning out 3 of my kitchen cupboards. Every morning I get up thinking I`ll do those cupboards today, get them over and done with. Have I started them? Have I heck!!

numberplease Fri 16-Jan-15 17:19:03

I have washed the kitchen and bathroom floors though.

Oldgreymare Fri 16-Jan-15 17:25:43

Me too Jingl.... made myself walk into town (instead of snoozing on the sofa).
I bought a box file and an envlope file. I AM going to sort out my life blush..... in fact I'm off right now.... well in a minute or so......

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Jan-15 17:40:27

Yes. That's it Tegan. Once you actually get started, the jobs don't take very long. It's the getting started that's the hard bit.

rosequartz Fri 16-Jan-15 17:41:47

We have decorating that needs doing but can't get around tuit.
I did glance at the thread on here, though.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Jan-15 17:42:22

OGM I walked into town on Monday. Clocked up 976 steps in the day! Since then - zilch! [sigh]

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 16-Jan-15 17:45:07

I have got a few jobs done since I started this thread, including going down the Co-op and buying a couple of Creme eggs. Just to do a taste test, of course. smile
