You may recall that the Idiot often can't 'afford' to pay DD any money until almost the end of the month.

For Christmas he bought her Jo Malone perfume (£82, I know because we bought her the same to make her feel better!!) the latest iPad and a bottle of (real) champagne.

She gave him, from the children, Nursery photos in a frame and a chocolate iphone!! tchgrin

He then sent her photos of himself and his 'new' girlfriend during every course of their meal! confused

Definitely an idiot. Your DD is well rid. (((Hugs))) to you Kitty for the stress caused.

Iam64 Fri 26-Dec-14 19:41:14

Tis the season of goodwill and peace to all people. what a shame not everyone makes an effort and some folk seem to delight in causing upset at this emotional time of year flowers

Ana Fri 26-Dec-14 19:45:57

I don't understand. Why did the idiot buy her such expensive gifts? What was the message...confused

Iam64 Fri 26-Dec-14 19:48:14

I suspect it's all 'mind games' Ana. An expensive gift along with texted photographs of him and his new woman smacks of 'look what you're missing'.

soontobe Fri 26-Dec-14 19:50:12

Is he an OTT guy?

kittylester Fri 26-Dec-14 20:10:00

Thank you for the hugs Nellie but she thought it was funny!

Ana, just yanking the string, I think! tchangry

Ana Fri 26-Dec-14 20:13:00

Oh dear...tchsad

Faye Fri 26-Dec-14 22:33:37

Your DD could send him a family photo of her with the children dressed in their best, include a very handsome man (much younger than the idiot). Have it ready to send early on New Years Eve.... immediately after texting the photo block him so he can't send more silly photos over NYE. He really does sound like an overgrown buffoon.

Nelliemoser Fri 26-Dec-14 23:01:36

I like Faye's idea, get your DD to borrow a good looking younger man for a mini photoshoot and pose by an expensive car.

Tegan Fri 26-Dec-14 23:43:38

No way; anything like that will compromise future negotiations with regards to maintenance payments etc.

ninathenana Sat 27-Dec-14 01:09:44

Sorry to hijack your thread kitty but at least she actually got to keep them tchgrin

Spermie brought an expensive pressie to the door when he collected the children but then said '' This is what you would have got if you'd taken me back'' he then went and put it back in the car! (She wouldn't say what it was) tchshock]

kittylester Sat 27-Dec-14 07:09:04

What a b*****d, Nina.

Well shot of both of them!

harrigran Sat 27-Dec-14 10:13:12

I fully expected to read headlines over Christmas " idiot chased off premises with raggy barge-pole " How you restrain yourself I do not know tchgrin

Teetime Sat 27-Dec-14 10:27:35

kitty I love your daughters gifts for him and the fact that she got some nice presents!! I'd ignore the photos of him slavering over his meal other than to rejoice you don't have to share it with him. Nina spermie is a git!!

Mishap Sat 27-Dec-14 10:30:37

What a pair of idiots - so sorry that your dear children have got tied up in all this.

shysal Sat 27-Dec-14 10:42:43

There are a lot of them about Kitty, glad you and DD can laugh!

The idiot in my family knows how to give his 3 kids a good time. He took them to the cemetry on Christmas morning to visit the graves of long-dead relatives whom they had never met! Despite never having paid a penny of child support for the 2 years since he left DD with huge debts unknown to her, and a house about to be re-possessed, he then presented them each with an iphone with no top-up, and instructions to go to the Vodafone shop after the holidays to get their old non-compatible SIM cards transferred. I hope they didn't fall off the back of a lorry! How disappointing for the DGCs to receive the gifts they wanted, then be unable to use them. Being self-employed he is managing to hide any income from the CSA, who have estimated that he shoud pay £5 per week!!!

ninathenana Sat 27-Dec-14 11:28:53

I think your DD ex wins the prize on this one shysal Using his children as pawns really is the lowest of the low.

tiggypiro Sat 27-Dec-14 13:32:01

Idiot and Spermie do have one very small redeeming feature - they have given some of us a giggle now and then. I can only hope that the families who have the misfortune to have to deal with them can also see the funny side now and again which to be honest must be difficult.

mcem Sun 28-Dec-14 08:44:52

Shysal my dd is in much the same position re maintenance as our idiot is also self-employed. Has lots of regular work and owns several properties but manages to hide his income. Boasts that he got away with it years ago with his first family and will do it again. Went so far as to tell GCs that he'd no money at all as he'd given it all to mummy for them and showed them his empty wallet!!!

Iam64 Sun 28-Dec-14 09:18:11

The comments about men avoiding providing financial support by playing fast n lose with self employment make me cross. mcem, that's a shocking thing for your gc's father to say to them.

ninathenana Sun 28-Dec-14 17:05:41

Spermie does now pay maintenance but as he has been given £X figure he thinks he should only ever have to provide for them at his one night a week. "Because what I give you covers the 6 nights and days at yours''

annsixty Sun 28-Dec-14 19:16:18

My Dd and SiL separated in September,at the moment everything is friendly and he has just spent 4days with them over Christmas. The finances have been settled between them and a monthly standing order is in place but next week SiL is moving into a rented house of which the rent is £1450 per month and that is when I can see problems will arise, but I cannot make DD see this and get it all put on a legal basis. She just keeps saying he will not renage on the agreement as his children are his prime concern. Is she just being naive?

Ana Sun 28-Dec-14 19:24:21

That's a huge sum to be paying for one person, ann! Is that the norm for the area where he is renting?

kittylester Sun 28-Dec-14 19:34:44

The Idiot is paying huge amounts for a 4 bed house when DD will be in a two bed house because all he can afford to pay is what's left after his rent! I can't get her to get 'legal' about it either.

ann, if he plays silly b*****s she can go to the CMS website and see what they think is reasonable!
