Well this is a fine way to start Christmas Day...

...as Oliver Hardy would have said.

It all started around 11.30pm. A friend was bringing us a couple of dining chairs for tomorrow. On the way she developed a terrible pain in her chest and by the time she got to our house it was so bad she couldn't get out of the car. We managed to get her into the house and phoned for an ambulance. By the time the paramedic arrived she was in agony and bringing up small amounts of blood.

The ambulance has taken her to hospital and DH has gone with her. So now it's just a waiting game.

It's just gone 1am so I'm going to try to sleep on the sofa before the children get up to see what Santa has brought.

The strange thing is, Mishap, that they normally misdiagnose aortic dissections.

This is why vampire's friend had problems seeing someone who knew what was wrong with her.

We need to make sure this government does not get in again and continue with its destruction of the NHS.

HRI must have been using locums over the weekend. One of yesterday's doctors had such a strong Eastern European accent that neither the patients nor nurses could understand her easily. For all we know she may have been a brilliant doctor but the possibility of a misunderstanding made her an accident waiting to happen.

Was it a locum who diagnosed the aortic dissection? It's worrying that a doctor can diagnose that and still send someone home with paracetamol.

Who knows? I'm hoping the complaint will bear fruit.
