Limerick writing Mark 4 (animal, vegetable and mineral)

Tripped the light fantas'tick'

Then tripped on a brick

Landing in a heap in some haystacks.

My hedgehog is safe in his hog house

My sheepdog is herding the cows

It's snowing again

The bull's in his pen

The trees are rattling their boughs

The grass is all frosted and crispy

The fox and its cubs look all wispy

My toes are so cold

they are starting to mould

And, darn it, I've just lost my frisby.

Don't tell the chicken - the oven's lit

Or the porker that he is next for the spit.

Ooh yum - roasted spuds

And perfumed Rose buds.

The life on a farm is pure grit.

There's gold in them hills said the miner

"It's only fool's gold", said the whiner

But I've got me a horse

And a saddle, too, of course

I'll go for lamb stew at the diner.

The hedgehog is slumbering for his Winter sleep.

The gardener is tending her compost heap
