Slainte to all my Granspals. Settle down and relax. The bubbly is nicely chilled. wine

kittylester I can help out with the eating!

soop I hope that it is a calm day when you and MacSporran set off to go to the hospital. There will be a cat with a very long face when you return!

dustyangel Sun 14-Dec-14 19:13:09

Freeze it on the board Kitty and cover it when frozen. If you can find a box big enough (when it's taken off the board) it will stop it getting damaged but it won't deteriorate before Christmas as long as it's covered somehow.
Thankyou soop and ffinnochio for your good wishes. I'm fine really but I knew that I could rely on Granspals to understand.
Soutra hugs and flowers.

dustyangel flowers sorry I missed your post, it's only natural to feel a lingering sadness. I think as we get older it seems to go deeper somehow.

((hugs))

dustyangel Sun 14-Dec-14 21:00:59

Thankyou Lona tchsmile

Good late Monday morning to all our lovely Kitcheners.

Thank you Soutra for your kind message. MacSporran's appointment in Oban is tomorrow. The weather is improving. The ferry is operating. Even the snow on the Paps of Jura appears to have melted. I shall share whatever news I may have with you on my return. And, yes,

So many of you are coping with difficulties and sadnesses and such at a time when emotions are especially sensitive, and I just want you to know that my thoughts are with you. Our kitchen is our virtual haven of peace and support. flowers

anno It sounds to me that you are very well catered for. Enjoy!!! tchgrin

Our landline is out of action. It cannot be restored until the end of this month. All very frustrating. Thankfully I'm able to use the computer. I would have thought that it too would be inoperable. I cannot understand the whys and wherefores of the situation. tchconfused

soop Mon 15-Dec-14 12:48:14

I meant to add...And, yes, Kitty we shall return to an exceedingly grumpy Rory. tchwink

soop Mon 15-Dec-14 12:53:24

MacSporran is a trifle miffed. BT have called on my mobile and we've been told that having checked our line and the fault cannot be traced. We shall therefore have to pay the princely sum of £120 to be reconnected on Dec 30th. MacS is muttering something profane!

Galen Mon 15-Dec-14 14:16:44

That's rubbish! Ask them what they're reconnecting or threaten to change companies!

soop Mon 15-Dec-14 14:21:45

I shall pass your message on to MacS who continues to mutter naughty words...

Elegran Mon 15-Dec-14 14:21:56

What do they think happened then? That you disconnected it yourself just to cause trouble?

Remind them that here has been inclement (!) weather round your way, and a lot of power lines were non-operational. It is not your fault that the landline went down, and if they couldn't find a fault, maybe they were not looking in the right place.

You pay them (right royally) for a connection, if that connection fails it is their responsibility to find the fault and put it right. The fact that they are having to reconnect it means that it was faulty. Full stop.

In the meantime...a few moments ago, a double rainbow presented itself to me. I'm about to add the image to my album. The end of the rainbow was almost in our garden. tchsmile

Elegran Mon 15-Dec-14 14:24:59

Closer than in the sea. Next one could have the pot of gold.

soop Mon 15-Dec-14 14:29:57

Elegran the image of the latest rainbow has only just this minute been uploaded. You need to return to album to see it. tchsmile

Elegran Mon 15-Dec-14 14:33:45

Go out right now and dig behind that bush!

soop Mon 15-Dec-14 17:36:13

tchgrin *Elegran

Now is the time for me to log off. Bye for now. I shall return sometime tomorrow afternoon. moon

Soop if that photo is taken from your garden, what a lovely view you have. I love the sea and would like to live nearer to it but we live near our DC and their families so can't complain. Being near our DGC is best smile. Hope MacSporrans appointment goes well and the journey not too arduous. (wee dram when you get home perhaps?)

dustyangel we went to a funeral of a dear friend recently and whilst a lovely ceremony we felt quite sad too ((huggs))

kitty chocolate log sounds delicious to me....as for the robin, is that edible too... I'm more than happy to help out with the tasting tchgrin

Belgian chocolates Galen, that sounds just what we need. I like them all so quite happy to have the soft centres if others want the hard ones. I love Bruges but prefer the chocolate shops to the lace ones tchsmile
