We've been without power since nine o'clock this morning. Obviously, as I'm on-line, we've been reconnected. My pal's supply, she lives on the other side of the village, was not affected. I was therefore able to catch up with her ironing. She's sick and in bed with a heavy cold. Just after the eleven o'clock two minutes silence, her husband [ex-paratrooper] gave me a wee dram. Together we toasted the fallen. The ceremony on television was extremely moving. The thirteen year old cadet who planted the final ceramic poppy, must have felt honoured as he performed the task and saluted.
