Hello and a warm welcome to you lovely lot. I'm about to brew a fresh pot of tea and there are plenty of goodies for us to munch on...grin

soop Wed 29-Oct-14 15:55:16

Soutra If I could I would hug you along with all the other Kitcheners who need comforting. I'm so sorry to hear the latest news. Whatever your daughter and her husband decide to do, it will be for the best. My love to you all.

Lona I'm feeling optimistic on your behalf. It's high time that you and yours had something good to look forward to and hopefully continue to be strong about. Enough stress and unhappiness has been borne by you all.

Bella and Crafting flowers and hugs galore.

Grannyknot My sons tell me that Bruges is marvellous...as is the beer. wink

My goodness, you lot have been busy and I feel that I've neglected you. Our kitchen has no walls...it is big enough for everyone. What I do feel is special, is that there is boundless love to be shared between us. We may never meet...however, we are good for each other in so many ways that matter. smile

Grannyknot Thank you for your lovely idea of "let's all squeeze in tight together and hold each other up." it is really kind.

Hugs from me to all who need one. That's me wanting to pay back a few I have had from all you Kitcheners in recent months.

Alygran Wed 29-Oct-14 17:14:26

May I squeeze a hug in for those who need one please? Have had wonderful afternoon with DH and DGS kicking leaves and collecting conkers and pine cones. Makes me count my blessings to have happy healthy DGS for a little bit of half term sunshine flowers

Lona Wed 29-Oct-14 19:42:11

Hello Alygran I've just had two days of kicking leaves with dgd, and I introduced her to 'helicopters' (sycamore wings), she was fascinated smile
They make you see life differently for a while don't they?

thatbags Wed 29-Oct-14 20:11:56

Glad to hear your hopeful news, Lona. Let's hope things keep on the up and up for your family. I'm sure your little GD has had a lovely two days with you smile

To everyone else with trials and tribulations, I'll join in the group hug and wish you all the best. I'm impressed by the bravery you are all showing in the face of dire things flowers flowers

Soutra it is so hard isn't it? Your DD just needs to know you are there for her and to support her in whatever decision she makes. As a mum you just want to make it all 'all right', take the pain away and hug them better - doesn't matter what age they are. I know your pain. Keep strong and remember to look after yourself too! flowers.

sunshine to all the other gransnetters who are suffering or in need of comfort just now.

Soutra Wed 29-Oct-14 21:50:00

DD and SIL just back from the hospital, exhausted , and based on the scan results, medical advice and counselling, have shared their decisien to terminate the pregnancy. They are heartbroken as are we on their behalf but I do think they have chosen the lesser heartbreak in the long term. I dearly hope they have some peace tonight after 5 days nobody would want to suffer. If anybody has strong views to the contrary I hope they will understand if I ask not to hear them as I undertook to support whatever they decided and have every intention of sticking to that. We have 3 lovely DGC whom we love dearly but this one was just not meant to be. sadsad

merlotgran Wed 29-Oct-14 22:04:33

They've made a very brave decision, Soutra The lesser heartbreak as you say but still unimaginably sad.

My best wishes to you and your family flowers

Alygran Wed 29-Oct-14 22:10:28

So sad. My thoughts supporting you all. flowers

Agus Wed 29-Oct-14 22:30:44

I fully support your DD's decision Soutra. It is her decision and should be respected. I wish her strength for the days ahead and happiness for the future. sad

Charleygirl Wed 29-Oct-14 22:34:45

I agree, it is so sad, my thoughts are with your dd and family Soutra. A very difficult decision to make but as you said, it will be the lesser heartbreak in the long term. flowers

Must popped in here to report that it's DD's birthday today and that she is completely thrilled with the paintings of her two pusscats which Soop made earlier this year. I've sent a photo to Soop but I'm not allowed to put in it any public place so you will have to imagine how happy DD is.
